  With all of the different shed companies out there it can be hard to make sense of it all. I'm glad that I stopped into Tuff Shed and talked to Mike Turner. He took the time to answer all of my questions even staying past closing time. When I did return later to order a shed he was very thorough and offered great suggestions. I have now had my shed for 3 months and am still very satisfied with my purchase.

  BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a Tuff Shed for my property in Urbandale, Iowa. Tuff Shed pulled the required permit and approved the location where the shed was installed. The permit expired one month after installation, yet I was never notified by Tuff Shed that there was an issue. Instead, approximately six months later, I was contacted by the City of Urbandale and informed that the shed had been installed within the required setback and utility easement and was in violation of city requirements. Tuff Shed knew about this and failed to inform me. It is my understanding that verifying compliance with setback requirements and utility easements was part of Tuff Shed’s responsibility when obtaining the permit and approving the installation location. Had this been done properly, the shed would not have been installed in a location that violated city requirements. After learning of the issue, I spent months trying to work with Tuff Shed to resolve the situation. Communication was inconsistent, updates were minimal, and obtaining answers was extremely difficult. Ultimately, the shed was removed from my property by their company due to an error that should have been identified before installation. No reimbursement had been offered at any point even though Tough Shed acknowledged that they had made a mistake. I have spent over $5,000 and been left with a bare spot in my yard and no shed that I paid for. No Communication, No apology, nothing. What has been most disappointing is not only the original mistake, but the lack of communication and follow-through afterward. I was never informed that the permit had expired or that there was any problem with the installation. Instead, I learned about it from the City months later and have since spent considerable time attempting to obtain a fair resolution. I am now reporting them to Better Business Bureau and leaving this review in hopes that someone from the corporate office will intervene. This has been a stressful and unfortunate experience and I absolutely would not recommend Tuff Shed to anyone that I know.

  This experience with tuff shed was absolutely fantastic. Mike Turner was very efficient, knowledgeable and straight forward walking through the entire process. Mike put us in touch with the gentleman who took care of the cement pad whose name is Mike as well, and made sure the permits were submitted and approved. The shed turned out better than we expected and I would highly recommend not only Tuff Shed, but also Mike Turner to anyone looking for a shed or any type of storage/work shop. Thank you again Mike for the best experience.
