Amazed at the quick response! Lionel is extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable. He explained the fireplace addition in detail, installation and scheduling. I did not expect such a quick time table. We are beyond thrilled! We will definitely recommend J. R. Bolton and will tell them to ask for Lionel!

JR Bolton is the best installer you will find, and I strongly recommend using them. The only area where they could improve is follow‑up communication—I had to call a few times to check on the status of custom‑fabricated parts. But compared to the alternatives, they were miles ahead.
I purchased a 50‑year‑old home with three terracotta‑lined chimneys. My home inspector suggested a chimney specialist before closing, and I quickly learned that chimneys like mine typically need major work if you plan to use them. With all the other expenses on an older home, I wasn’t eager to take on that cost.
I had visited JR Bolton’s showroom before, but the high‑end fireplaces made me think I could save money by going elsewhere. I found three other installers. One promised to come out multiple times but never showed. Another came once, but after I followed up for a quote, they said they couldn’t source the needed supplies. I ended up using a third installer for two chimneys, and that turned into its own set of problems.
I’m technical and like to read installation instructions. This installer disagreed with the manufacturer’s guidance and did not want to install seal plates where the old dampers were. He also wouldn’t drill through the chimney to run power, leaving a cord running to a wall outlet for the blower. On top of that, he talked me into a cheaper non‑catalytic model because he “didn’t like” catalytic stoves and rarely installed them. One non‑catalytic unit was too small.
The stove couldn’t heat the space beyond the 60s, the firebox was tiny, and most of my existing firewood wouldn’t fit. A full load only burned about four hours.
I went back to JR Bolton and bought two larger brown enamel catalytic stoves rated for 24‑hour burns. I replaced one of the units I had just purchased elsewhere. They ran the power inside the fireplace, so no showing power cords. They installed the chimney seal. If I had gone with JR Bolton from the start, I would have saved money and avoided a lot of frustration. My salesman Lionel was incredibly knowledgeable with years of experience and understood all of my concerns. Lionel review options and was great at handling any of my concerns.
