  *** BUYER BEWARE*** They don't care about you, it's all about the money!!! If I could give this builder zero stars I would. Worst experience dealing with Stanley Martin homes. I understand they are a business but they only care about taking your money not making sure you are comfortable and satisfied with the home you are purchasing. I prequalified for my home with them but after signing my disclosures I could not move forward with the purchase. They kept my earnest deposit even though my co-signer would not move forward with the purchase. I've spoken to several people that purchased homes from other builders and had similar situations and those builders had no issues returning the earnest money. But Stanley Martin only cares about making money, not helping people attain a home. If this is how they treat you before you actually get into your home, I'd hate to see how they treat you after. I will never recommend this builder to anyone ever. I'm sure they will come under this review and try to explain away why they did what they did, but you took my hard earned money and kept it with no remorse for a home that wasn't even built yet. Now I will have to wait a year or more before I can buy my first home for my family.

  I was doing a bid for Lawn Care on a newly built home. The sod was laid less than a month ago and not rolled after. The seams were visible, the soil was compacted and there were weeds throughout. The cheap low quality installation was unlike anything I have ever seen. I drove thru and all the homes that had lawns were in the same shape.
