We recently had our bathroom remodeled by this company, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the first consultation with Adam and his team to the final walkthrough, they were professional, honest, and paid close attention to every detail.
The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. Antonio, Jesus, and Gabriel did everything with care, the job site was kept clean, and they communicated with us throughout the project so we always knew what to expect. They finished on time, stayed true to their estimate, and the finished bathroom looks even better than we imagined.
It’s refreshing to work with a small business that truly takes pride in its work and treats customers with respect. If you’re looking for a reliable contractor who delivers high-quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service, I highly recommend them. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future remodeling projects.

After searching for a while to find a contractor capable and willing to redo an existing fireplace, I came across Millie Monroe Construction. I put in a request for information and received a call back within a day. An appointment was made with Adam Burgamy and his chimney /fireplace guy Eric. They came out assessed our space and told us that our project was very doable (something we had not heard from at least 2 prior contractors) and that the timeframe for completion would be 1 week (Monday-Friday).
Once we expressed our vision, Adam drew up a rough visual using AI to see if he understood and he did. The AI visual was spot on. Adam then said he would send over some granite types and mantel types for us to review.
Within the next few days, Adam followed through. We were able to pick out a mantel and zero in on granite. Adam directed us to a stone shop to puck out the exact piece of granite. We did as directed. It was very easy.
A date was set for work. The team came in. They placed a paper runner down every day and cleaned it up when they left. They placed a plastic wall for dust, ran vacuums while they worked, and cleaned the work space daily. They arrived on time and worked through the day. Adam let us know step by step our progress.
We are very pleased with the work that was completed and the professionalism of the team and Adam. I highly recommend Millie Monroe and we will definitely use them again .

Adam and his team did an excellent job. They were recommended by a neighbor, and we could not have had a better experience. Fair pricing, great communication, and great quality of work. Every day we received updates on the progress that includes pictures of before and after and what to expect for the next day.
The quote/ expected work was extremely detailed. Which this helped to know what was our responsibility vs theirs. This allowed us to add items to the work load that before we did not think of. One of the items that we were expected to provide ended up not fitting due to a change requested from us. Adam’s team was able to get a replacement while we were at work to avoid delay in the work.
Work done:
-Attic finish for storage
-electric stove converted to gas
-range hood installed with exterior ventilation
- load bearing wall removed in kitchen
- doorway closes off with additional cabinet installed
-floors re finished to match existing stain
Frequently Asked Questions About Millie Monroe Construction & Chimney
How often should I have my chimney inspected?
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends annual chimney inspections for all homeowners. These yearly inspections allow us to detect creosote accumulation, damaged flue liners, moisture issues, animal nests, and other potential hazards before they turn into expensive repairs. Even if your fireplace sees minimal use, scheduled inspections ensure your chimney stays safe and maintains its structural integrity.
What is included in your 18-point chimney & fireplace safety inspection?
Our thorough 18-point chimney & fireplace safety inspection assesses the condition, safety, and functionality of your entire fireplace and chimney system. Beyond examining the accessible components of your fireplace and chimney, we utilize camera scope technology to inspect the flue interior, revealing hidden cracks, degradation, blockages, or other problems that can't be detected through standard visual examination.
During your inspection, we evaluate the: firebox, damper, smoke chamber, flue liner (camera scoped), chimney crown, chimney cap, masonry and mortar joints, flashing, chase cover (when applicable), exterior chimney structure, signs of water intrusion, creosote buildup, draft and ventilation, hearth and fireplace surround, overall safety and system performance. Following the inspection, we'll discuss our findings with you, address any areas of concern, and offer recommendations for maintenance or repairs to maintain safe and efficient fireplace operation.
How often should my chimney be cleaned?
We suggest scheduling chimney inspections at least annually, ideally before the heating season begins. This helps guarantee your chimney is clean and safe for use. If your fireplace gets frequent use, additional inspections during the year may be necessary. Even with infrequent fireplace use, routine chimney cleaning and inspections identify hidden problems, eliminate creosote accumulation, and enhance airflow. Maintaining a consistent schedule not only improves home safety but also prolongs your chimney's service life.
If I don't have a wood-burning fireplace, do I still need to have it cleaned and inspected annually?
Yes, annual inspections remain important even with gas fireplaces, direct vent fireplaces, or gas log systems to confirm your fireplace functions safely and efficiently. As time passes, venting systems can experience blockages, moisture problems, corrosion, animal intrusion, or component deterioration that isn't apparent during regular operation. During your yearly inspection, we'll assess the condition of your fireplace, venting system, and critical safety features, providing recommendations for any needed cleaning or maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
How much does chimney cleaning cost?
Homeowners should recognize that unusually low pricing often indicates insufficient service quality, and there are significant risks associated with unqualified chimney and fireplace inspection and cleaning services. Proper and dependable chimney cleanings are specialized services that require trained professionals with appropriate expertise. While exact pricing varies, chimney cleaning performed by a reputable company typically ranges from $250 to $450. Factors including the level of cleaning required, company size, professional experience, and technician training and credentials can influence the final cost within this range. The cost of chimney cleaning depends on multiple factors, including chimney height, accessibility, system type, and creosote accumulation levels. We offer transparent, upfront pricing so homeowners understand all costs before any work begins.
What is creosote, and why is it dangerous?
Creosote is a highly flammable byproduct that accumulates inside your chimney during wood combustion. Without proper maintenance, creosote deposits build up on the flue walls and can catch fire when exposed to elevated temperatures, potentially causing a hazardous chimney fire. Beyond increasing fire danger, heavy creosote buildup can limit airflow and force smoke back into your living space. Regular chimney cleaning is the most effective method to eliminate creosote deposits and maintain proper fireplace function.
Do you provide design assistance for home renovations?
Yes, we do. Whether you've already developed a detailed plan or you're just starting to consider possibilities, we'll assist you throughout the design process. We'll review layout alternatives, functionality requirements, material choices, finishes, color schemes, and overall project objectives while sharing recommendations drawn from our professional experience. Our objective is to develop spaces that are both attractive and functional while expressing your individual preferences.
What adds the most value to home renovations?
Kitchen and bathroom renovations generally provide the highest return on investment, along with updated flooring, fresh paint, energy-efficient windows and doors, finished basements, outdoor living areas, and enhanced curb appeal. The most valuable renovations are those that improve both your home's usability and long-term market value. During your consultation, we'll help you identify improvements that match your objectives, budget, and your home's specific requirements.
What happens if I want to make changes to my home renovation after construction has started?
Occasionally, homeowners request modifications after a renovation project has begun. If you choose to add work, alter materials, revise the design, or request extra features, we'll review the requested modifications with you before proceeding with any additional work. We then create a comprehensive change order that clearly specifies the updated scope of work, cost adjustments, and any effect on the completion schedule. After you review and sign the change order, we'll integrate the changes into your project. This approach maintains complete transparency, prevents confusion, and keeps your renovation well-organized and progressing smoothly.
Do you remodel older homes?
Yes. Older homes frequently need extra planning because of outdated electrical systems, plumbing, framing techniques, or structural issues. We thoroughly assess each home prior to starting construction and suggest solutions that maintain the home's distinctive character while updating it to current safety requirements.
