I have been using AmBient H&C for several times through my home warranty company, they consistently perform well. The office manager is very responsible.

I had a very disappointing experience with Ambient Heating and Air, LLC through my American Home Shield (AHS) warranty. I received three completely different diagnoses for the same AC issue: first, I was told there were no mechanical issues; then refrigerant was added and airflow was blamed; finally, the technician, Joe, said my compressor had failed and my entire AC unit needed to be replaced.
When I contacted AHS, they confirmed that Ambient had initially reported no mechanical issues. I also requested a detailed diagnostic report from Joe, but he told me to get it from AHS. When I called AHS, they informed me that the servicing company—not AHS—is responsible for providing that report to the customer.
The inconsistent diagnoses, lack of transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional service left me with no confidence in this company. I ultimately requested that AHS block Ambient Heating and Air from servicing my home in the future.
I would not recommend this company.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. NOT REPUTABLE. This company installed a new AC unit last year. This is my second service request this year. The first one was due to bad wiring, and this one is due to a leak which covers half of my upper floor and my first floor ceiling. They are also not answering their phone and then called me from another number asking questions.

My experience with AmBient through my home warranty was amazing! They were kind and polite, responded quickly, and worked me in when my AC went out in 90+ degree weather. Great prices as well. Thank you, AmBient!
Frequently Asked Questions About AmBient Heating and Cooling
How can I keep my home cool during the summer?
To keep your home cool, consider using a programmable thermostat, operating ceiling fans, closing window coverings during the hottest parts of the day, and scheduling regular HVAC maintenance. These methods enhance cooling performance and overall comfort in your home.
What are the signs that my HVAC system needs to be replaced?
Signs that indicate replacement may be necessary include ongoing repair needs, increased energy costs, uneven temperature distribution, and an outdated unit. When your system can no longer maintain comfortable conditions or repair expenses exceed replacement costs, installing a new system is likely the better choice.
How often should HVAC maintenance be performed?
Your HVAC system should be professionally serviced at least twice annually-once in preparation for the cooling season and once before the heating season begins-to maintain optimal performance and avoid unexpected failures.
What steps should I take to prepare my HVAC system for winter?
Preparing your system for winter involves changing or cleaning air filters, examining the furnace, verifying proper airflow, and arranging a professional maintenance visit to ensure your system operates safely and efficiently throughout the cold weather.
Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?
This choice depends on variables such as the age of your system, the cost of repairs, and current efficiency levels. When repairs become frequent or costly and your unit is aging, replacing it typically offers better value over time.
How often should I schedule HVAC maintenance?
Professional HVAC maintenance is recommended twice a year—once in spring to prepare your cooling system for summer and again in fall before the heating season begins. Routine tune-ups can improve energy efficiency, minimize unexpected repairs, extend the life of your equipment, and help ensure your HVAC system operates safely and reliably.
What are the signs that I may need a new HVAC system?
An HVAC replacement may be worth considering if your system is over 10–15 years old, needs frequent repairs, struggles to maintain consistent temperatures, makes unusual sounds, or leads to rising energy costs. Having a professional evaluate your equipment can help determine whether repairing the existing system or investing in a new one is the more cost-effective choice.
What are the benefits of installing a high-efficiency HVAC system?
High-efficiency HVAC systems are designed to provide dependable home comfort while consuming less energy than older equipment. Upgrading can help reduce monthly utility expenses, maintain more consistent indoor temperatures, lower your home's environmental impact, and deliver greater long-term value through improved efficiency.
Do smart thermostats really help save energy?
Yes. Smart thermostats can improve HVAC efficiency by automatically adjusting temperatures according to your schedule and comfort preferences. Many models also offer remote control, energy usage insights, and advanced scheduling features, making it easier to reduce unnecessary heating and cooling while maintaining a comfortable home.
How can I improve the indoor air quality in my home?
Improving indoor air quality can involve several solutions, including proper ventilation, regular filter replacement, routine HVAC maintenance, air purification systems, whole-home filtration, UV air sanitizers, and humidity control. A professional indoor air quality assessment can help determine which combination of solutions is best suited to your home's specific needs.
