  Our A/C had been broken for 4 days, and after waiting five hours for our appointment window, no one showed up. The office claimed they canceled the appointment because “the homeowner wasn't home”, yet no one ever called, texted, emailed, or knocked on the door beforehand and my security system disproves that claim with 2 cars in the driveway. When I called to ask what happened, management couldn't provide an explanation and still refused to fully waive the $99 service fee, only offering $40 off on a $1000 repair. Fortunately, the technician who finally arrived, Jose, was fantastic and professional. He handled the repair smoothly and kindly gave us a 10% discount for the trouble. Five stars for Jose, but management's handling of their own mistake was incredibly poor. Won’t be using Moncrief again as I know our whole system will need upgrading at some point.

  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Save yourself the money and the headache. I don't write reviews like this, but Moncrief has gone downhill since being acquired by Ace Hardware. The service now feels transactional and profit-driven rather than customer-focused. Here's what happened: - 5 years ago I bought a mini-split from Moncrief for $5.5K. It was defective and broke down this past summer. - Just to get a quote, they charged me $470 for a "leak test." Every other company I contacted did this for free. - The failed part was covered under warranty. Moncrief initially claimed they couldn't source the part and would need to replace the entire unit, then somehow "found" the replacement part the very next day. - They quoted $4.9K to repair a warranty-covered unit, nearly the cost of a brand-new one. - When I pushed back and asked for a discount, they offered 10%. - I got a second opinion from another company, which came in under $2K for the same repair, with no charge for the diagnostic. That's what I ended up paying, and the unit works perfectly. My takeaway: either Moncrief didn't want the job and priced it to lose it, or Ace's ownership means a built-in markup on every ticket. Either way, get a second quote before you agree to anything, and don't pay them a dime just to walk in the door.

  I had an amazing experience with Moncrief Heating & AC. We purchased a new AC unit from Moncrief late April. It runs great and we've had zero issues. Our sales rep, Mike Jnofinn was incredibly professional and responsive. Our installers were timely, informative and did excellent work. I highly recommend Moncrief Heating & AC, and especially Mike Jnofinn.

  I called Moncrief through a recommendation to get a second opinion. Jose was my tech. Punctual, professional. He looked at all my equipment and informed me that I didn’t need to panic. My system looked good (based on age) for now, but something I needed to address in the future. He did mention that my unit outside needed cleaning, which I thought was automatically done with my maintenance plan with another company. Thank you, Jose!

  I can’t give enough stars or praise for this company. I had to have an entire unit replaced in my condo. The unit that was replaced was in a very tight space that created some issues with installation but when I say every person that came out to service the unit was incredible. The service, communication, follow up. Thank you to everyone that made this very extensive project such a good experience. Mariano, Edie, Tony, Jonathan, Jerry & my girls in the office-THANK YOU!!
