  We had a Tuff Shed installed in our backyard, we purchased a 12 x 18 and opted for a concrete floor and the entire process went very well. Linda King was our sales associate and made everything very transparent and even made some fine points to make the shed better and was a joy to work with. When issues popped up about permitting with the city of Tampa, she’s right there to help get it fixed. Everything worked out great with a Tuff Shed and we’re very happy with the final product.

  I love everything about my Tuff Shed, what a great product! Wonderful sales person, and the shed itself is amazing. The install crew was fantastic, friendly clean and efficient. What brought the score down a notch was the permit process. Apparently City of Tampa is notoriously long for permitting time and nobody explained that. Because I had no idea it would take over 2 months to get my permit I had the old shed removed and it's contents strewn about. I signed the contract on Jan 19 and on Easter Sunday, April 5, I still did not have the shed. We had a big family party on Easter and the place was a mess. Furthermore their team only processes permits from a computer they do not visit the permit offices and know the permit people. I found that I was able to move the Historical approval by personally visiting that office. I ended up on the phone with the district manager and he was lazy and disrespectful. He basically defended his team and their process. If I were in his shoes (and I have been in other customer facing positions), I would have gone myself to the permitting office to shake hands with the permit people and ask for some discretion. I would recommend Tuff Shed again but make sure you get clear timelines on permitting.

  This is an honest experience and I’m sharing so people know the potential outcome of choosing tuff shed. Like anyone I saw tuff shed at Home Depot and considered them. I spoke with a local rep and discussed the process, all sounded great. We originally wanted a barn style but due to the height and permitting, we had to change our plans. We were told the land survey we got when we bought our house would work, an that was false. Our first extra expense was a $670 land survey required by the city. Tuff shed charges $400 for permitting, but you owe the city another $600 for the actual permit. They also charge you an additional $450 for engineered plans (not included in price.) We decided to do a gravel base ($1300). The $6,500 shed was now up to almost $12,000 when said and done. There were fees like “market adjustment” and some other crap. So the sticker price is NOT THE PRICE. Then came installation day. I was not called, but got a knock at 7:30am. I had to leave for a while, but my wife was home. They said the gravel wasn’t level enough and wanted to put the upgraded metal base on wood shanks. They wouldn’t even allow me an hour to come home and try leveling the $1300 gravel better. The subcontractor decided to leave and tuff shed wanted $200 to reschedule. Three months later and $12,000 later we have a shed that probably isn’t $3500 worth of material. Granted the shed is “nice,” but the floor is water resistant not water proof. These are basically cheap kits tuff shed builds and hires contractors to assemble. Like any business, they’ll charge whatever they want. If I could do it again, I’d find a reliable local contractor who knows how to build a shed. Forget the warranty… it isn’t worth the price and hassle. Oh and they charge you for every single add on… doors, vents, $700 for anchors, that little white vent cost $75.00. Best of luck to you!
