My experience with Gale Insulation was frustrating, not because of the final outcome, but because of how the case was handled.
About five years after my home was built, a large bathroom mirror originally installed by Gale unexpectedly detached from the wall and shattered. Fortunately, no one was standing in front of it at the time. (Photos of the shattered mirror are attached.)
An independent glass professional inspected the installation and observed what appeared to be areas of adhesive that may not have made proper contact with the mirror during the original installation (photo attached). Lennar (builder of my house) referred me to Gale because Gale was the original installer.
David Robau, the Tampa Branch Manager, told me that matters regarding warranty or compensation should instead be coordinated through Lennar. I requested a written statement from Gale for its position so that I can present it to Lennar and move the process forward. David told me on two separate occasions that he would send it to me. Unfortunately, I never received that statement despite my follow-up attempts.
Because I could not move the case forward at the branch level, I contacted TopBuild Corporate. After reviewing the matter, a District Manager worked with me professionally, apologized for my customer service experience, and agreed to reimburse the $380 replacement cost as part of a settlement. I appreciate his professionalism and willingness to resolve the matter.
I'm sharing this review simply to describe my experience so that other homeowners know what to expect if they ever need assistance after the builder's warranty has expired. I want to be clear that the two stars rating reflects my appreciation for the professionalism of the District Manager who ultimately helped resolve the matter. Unfortunately, my experience with Gale Tampa branch was extremely disappointing. I hope Gale will continue improving its follow-up and communication so that future customers will not have to go through a similar experience.
