  I do not typically leave negative reviews, but my experience with Luxurious Pavers warrants a clear and honest account. I put off writing a negative review for a long time (this work was done a couple years ago), but after seeing them rated among the best paver businesses and now having to redo a lot of their work, my frustrations have compelled me to write this. I invested approximately $40,000 for a lanai and pool renovation, and the overall quality of workmanship and project execution was unacceptable. The pool portion of the project was outsourced to a third-party vendor without proper oversight or communication. During the resurfacing process, wastewater was inappropriately discharged into a neighboring property, creating unnecessary issues. I was not provided with basic pool startup or maintenance guidance, which resulted in visible discoloration in the deep end. Additionally, a pool light installation was left incomplete and unsecured, leaving it floating instead of properly mounted as expected. While Mateo himself was professional and a very nice person to work with, the performance of his crew consistently fell below standard. Known drainage issues were never properly addressed—uneven concrete was simply covered with sand, resulting in no meaningful improvement. After additional work to install pavers following hurricane-related damage, the drainage problems worsened. I also observed multiple examples of poor installation practices, including: - Using incorrect materials such as play sand and sand that had shells in it instead of proper paver sand - One of his workers grabbing a handful of sand from my yard to level a paver - Inconsistent and inadequate repair methods - Repeated "fixes" that failed to resolve the underlying issues Despite several return visits, problems were not corrected and required ongoing follow-up. Additional concerns include uneven and ineffective drainage directing water toward the home’s foundation, large gaps between pavers after cleaning because the sealant was incorrectly applied, and improper use of grout between pavers. The grout was applied carelessly, leaving visible residue on surrounding marble surfaces. As a direct result, I am now spending additional thousands of dollars to have this work redone correctly—work that should have been completed properly the first time. I also referred this company to friends and neighbors, who reported similarly negative experiences. I strongly advise prospective customers to thoroughly evaluate alternatives and not rely solely on marketing materials or magazine rankings. The photos provided reflect the condition after a thorough cleaning and scrubbing all the mold and algae that was growing in between the pavers.
