    I spoke with Custom Air to get pricing for a service on our 2 a/c units, Mary in their South Carolina office quoted $260 for a service/membership plan for 2 visits every 6 months, I asked her if the price was per unit or for both units, she confirmed it was for both. The tech came out today and after servicing both units told me that it was $260 for the first unit and $200 for the second one for the membership plan. Page and Armarie in the Sarasota office admitted after checking the recorded call to Mary their representative that it was a mistake on the part of their representative.They claim their representative didn't know all the pricing, so why quote false information? Surely if they are answering calls, quoting pricing and scheduling service calls they should know what the company charges or if not ask someone that does? Despite admitting the company's mistake they are still trying to charge me $460 plus tax for the membership plan or $318 plus tax for a one off service on the 2 units. I would never have agreed to paying $460 or $318 and would have gone with their special of a check up on both units for $118 plus tax. Beware of dealing with this company it was purchased last year by a big a/c company in South Carolina whose representatives appear to be providing false quotes to customers! If their representative made a genuine mistake then they need to take responsibility for their mistake and charge what they originally quoted and not expect their customers to pay for their mistakes. DO NOT TRUST OR USE THIS COMPANY!

    As usual, my experience with Custom Air was excellent. The techs arrived on time, were very courteous, quickly resolved my AC issue and took the time to explain everything. I’m a very satisfied customer!

    Something bad has happened to this company. We had a membership/maintenance contract with them, and their service used to be good. Now when I call, I get a different dispatcher almost every time, and different technicians that show up. I have been trying for two days to escalate and get some customer service, but I can’t get a supervisor or a manager on the phone, most of the dispatchers don’t even know the name of the manager, and they don’t call back. Last night they were a no-show for our appointment. Calls, emails - nothing works. It feels like they have turned it into a lead farm for independent contractor HVAC technicians.

    Custom Air & Plumbing technician Niegel Rothacher has helped us beautifully several times. The latest time, he replaced our 17-year-old water heater for Custom Air for about $700 less than another company quoted -- with the same Rheem product and same 40 gallon size. We had initially called a plumbing company recommended by neighbors because we couldn't figure out why water pressure in our kitchen sink was poor. That company was going to replace our faucet for $700+. But Niegel fixed it in 10 minutes for essentially free since he was here to do the water heater. The problem would not have been fixed with a new faucet! Niegel is a pleasant, smart, experienced and very knowledgeable young man. The other company's technician had a script he followed blindly that pushed all kinds of other repairs and services. Custom Air & Plumbing has been responsive and less expensive for us and a neighbor for years. We will call only them in the future and we recommend them highly.

    Rating reflects edit. We had always been happy with Custom Air until yesterday. The tech, Quoc, had a hard time figuring anything out, to the point where I had to show him the writing on the unit so he could understand what to do. His response, “Oh, I messed up.” Within ten minutes after that, he fell off the ladder in my closet and did significant damage to drywall and cabinetry. We’ve been told “They would take care of it”, and that “someone would call,” but so far, two days later, we continue to try and chase these people down who don’t follow through on promises. We just got off the phone again, and were told the manager was out of the office until Friday and somebody would call us then. Sure they will. 🙄 This is absolutely ridiculous. We’ve had a service contract on TWO SYSTEMS for years, they damaged drywall AND a cabinet door, yet there is no urgency at all to correct this issue for a customer. Hard to believe there is only ONE person who can help resolve this. I will update this review if they ever follow through but based on experience so far, I am not optimistic. Inexcusable . ***EDIT: Custom air sent a drywall guy out to fix the damage and he did a great job patching and painting. The closet company will make a new door to replace the damaged one, which we hope to have in several weeks. We are very appreciative that they handled this issue properly.
