We had a problem that turned out to be not much of a problem at all. But Steven was great, looking over our electrical issue and providing us with options for upgrade or repair in the future. We’ll be going back to Infinite Electrical.

Gordon, showed up early and within literal within a minute knew exactly what was wrong with our Air conditioning. He was so kind and helpful. He was so worried about me living without A/C for 5 days. For any one who lives in Florida can understand how hot your house gets very fast. Just to let you know the 5 days was not the company’s fault. I tried to fix it myself. I called them only 4 hours earlier and they took care of me right away. I believed it was the thermostat was bad and ordered 2 different thermostat to be ready to replace it which cost me over $350. Luckily they were returnable because the problem had nothing to do with it. The problem was totally our fault. When they tell you to have your A/C unit maintained twice a year. Do it!! Anyway he was able to get the A/C unit working within 30 minutes. They will need to come back and do a full maintenance on the unit. He was so kind on the price of the repair and gave me a discount and then the same on the next visit. We are now on the maintenance schedule. Thank you Gordon and Infinite Electric & Air. I will recommend you to everyone!!

Infinite Air has proven again to be an exceptional company! We have two air conditioners that were purchased and installed by this company. The customer service provided by the owner, Al is exceptional. He is always focused on customer accommodation and satisfaction. When our one air conditioner was not working, he sent out a technician that same day. Nate was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. He analyzed the problem and had the unit up and working in a very short time.
We will always have Infinite Air as our air conditioning company and highly recommend them to everyone without reservation!

Edit,
Got a call from Vincent (owner). He was very professional and understanding, and made great efforts to make right this overall experience. I will not yet give up on the company, as other than this most recent experience most of the historical visits have gone well. So we will see what our future holds.
I have used this company for a few years now.
They installed a complete new system, and I had been using them for bi-annual maintenance. After a year, the system shut down due to a drain blockage. You kind of need to own the product you installed, and subsequently are ‘maintaining’.
This latest maintenance was a real disappointment. The system was cycling on/off, as the system was trying to start but not getting all the permissives. It just so happened this began the very morning they were scheduled to come out for maintenance. Great, the guy can check out the system and find out what the issue was.
Runs the system, says everything is ok. Uh, really? It was not correct this morning, but now you tell me it’s fine? Quotes me a bunch of typical ‘upgrades’: Drain management system for $800, surge protection for $1022, and air purification for $2422.
He leaves, two hours later the system goes back to on/off cycling. Had to call them back. Now the guy tells me the ECM fan motor in the air handler failed due to a ‘surge’. Weather has been fine for literally 6 months; we have not yet gone into storm season in FL. The unit is a condo, one transformer serving around 50 units. No one else has had issues. Nothing else in this condo has problems: tv, wireless router, modem, computers, microwave, control boards in the appliances, etc etc. But the one device inside the air handler fails, and you KNOW it was a surge?? Don’t think so. The most likely reason is infant morality in a cheaply built ECM; ECM’s are the WalMart of retail, cheap as you can get and still provide variable speed. All I was trying to get across to him is that a surge is actually unlikely given all the indicators, so at least admit it is an opinion rather than a fact. After all, how did a surge yesterday take out the ECM but two hours ago you said everything was fine??? You telling me a surge only sorta kinda blew the ECM up?
He gets all pissy with me and puffs out his chest stating his infinite knowledge because he had been doing HVAC for 20 years. Like it matters; mechanical people can be very smart with pressure and temperature, but with electrical problems they generally are not. To prove to him I did not think this was a surge, I asked for the defective part, because I actually am able to repair electronics. If the ECM failed, I can easily troubleshoot and replace MOSFETs or IGBTs. I know what a PWM inverter is and how to use my oscilloscopes to investigate. Surprise: he won’t allow me to have the defective motor unless I pay $400 for it. Does anyone actually believe Comfortmaker is going to investigate this ECM for why it failed? Or repair a disposable part? It’s going into the landfill. I wanted to, and they purposefully made it economically impractical for me to do so.
So this guy’s attitude really turned me off, and I will start looking elsewhere for a service company. We are all able to have our opinions, especially when we are practicing within our area of expertise. This particular individual was speaking well outside his area, and the best he could offer was charging me more money for a surge protector.
Note to Infinite/Optimum Air: surge protectors do NOT protect from lightning; they protect against small magnitude system switching transients and faults. Fort Myers is the lighting capital of the world. If you think your little Tonka toy of a surge protector can absorb 1% of the energy of a lightning strike, I have a bridge to sell you. Stop marketing your products as solutions, and start suggesting they are nothing more than insurance.
Frequently Asked Questions About Infinite Electric & Air
Do I need an electrician to install a transfer switch?
A transfer switch, used to switch power sources, requires proper installation to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. DIY installation might lead to risks, and hence, hiring a licensed electrician is recommended. We emphasize checking credentials, reviews, and quotes while selecting an electrician, concluding that professional installation is the wise choice for installing a transfer switch.
I've lost power to an outlet and/or room lights but there aren't any breakers tripped. What should I do?
First check any GFCI outlets in your home and reset them to see if that fixes the problem. Then if that is not it, re-check the breakers as sometimes they are hard to see if they have tripped at all. Reset the breaker where the issue is and see if that works.
How do I know if I have a defective electrical panel?
Old panels installed from the mid 1950's to the 1980's could have a faulty design if they were made by Federal Pacific or Zinsco. They can fail to trip, short circuit or even catch on fire. Many of them have lasted for years, but it doesn't mean they are operating as they should.
When should I replace my carbon monoxide detectors?
Carbon monoxide detectors usually have a lifespan of about 10 years. Old detectors, over time, can lose their ability to detect carbon monoxide. If there is a battery backup you should replace these every 6 months.
What if I have light switches and outlets that don't work?
Your light switches and or outlets may be damaged or have loose connections. Ignoring them can cause bigger issues over time if not fixed. Replacing or fixing these items should always be done by a professional and our team can identify where the problem truly is. It may just be an old outlet, but we want to make sure your home is safe from the unexpected.
Should I install a new ceiling fan on my own?
If you have never installed a ceiling fan before you should definitely have a professional handle the installation. Professional installation of a ceiling fan is important for various reasons such as proper wiring, mounting, and balancing. Also, depending on the height of the ceiling, climbing a ladder can be risky at times.
How do you test a GFCI Outlet?
Simply push the RESET button on the GFCI outlet to prepare for testing, then plug in a nightlight or similar electrical device into the outlet, the light/device should turn on.
Now push the TEST button and the light or device should turn off. Complete the test by pushing the RESET button again and the light/device should turn back on.
If the light/device does not turn off during the test, then it could be wired incorrectly, improperly installed, damaged, or be at the end of its shelf life (about 10 years). This needs to be fixed as if it is not working properly the GFCI outlet will not provide shock protection in the event of using it.
Do I need to worry about flickering lights in my house?
Most homeowners will experience flickering lights from time to time, especially during a storm. But if it happens frequently, such as light bulbs burning out and the lights dimming randomly it may be the sign of a more serious issue.
Sometimes there may be loose connections in light switches, outlets, or your electric panel. These loose connections could cause Arcing which happens when electricity jumps from one connection to another. In serious cases this could cause a fire, which should be addressed immediately.
