MGM Recovery has been absolutely amazing. They work directly with my insurance so I haven't had to pay anything while they work to clean up the damages in my house due to a broken pipe. Mr Anthony has been so professional and helpful in every step of the way. He has answered all of our questions and explained the whole process, while helping us remain calm and positive during these tough times. 100% recommended!

I wish I could give this joke of a company zero stars. It’s like two completely different companies operate here. The initial mitigation guys were great, but the repair team led by Evert? An absolute circus. A simple upstairs leak that went downstairs was supposed to take 3 days. Instead, it took nearly THREE TIMES that long because Evert’s team is completely incompetent. They were either consistently late or just straight-up didn’t show up at all. Every time they ghosted me, I got hit with a new, random excuse that was a blatant lie. The unprofessionalism is actually stunning. When I asked about potential upgrades for the rebuild, Evert literally told me, "sometimes we have some old stuff laying around in the warehouse." Who wants to hear that?! I'm paying for quality repairs, not whatever junk you have gathering dust in a warehouse. To top it all off, these people had the nerve to use my own personal equipment without asking and left it absolutely filthy. Evert and his crew have zero respect, zero communication skills, and absolutely no business running a job. Absolute nightmare experience. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these clowns.

Frequently Asked Questions About MGM Recovery

What causes more damage in hurricanes, wind or water?

When it comes to hurricanes, both wind and water play significant roles in the damage they leave in their wake. While you may assume that the strong winds associated with hurricanes are the main cause of damage, actually water, in the form of storm surges and heavy rainfall, can wreak havoc on coastal areas and inland regions. The powerful winds generated by hurricanes can uproot trees, tear-off roofs, and topple buildings. The wind speed increases as the storm intensifies, with the potential to reach velocities exceeding 150 MPH. High winds can launch debris through the air, turning everyday objects into dangerous projectiles. The force of the wind can also weaken structures, leading to structural failures and collapses. Therefore, the wind damage caused by hurricanes can be extensive, particularly in areas directly in the path of the storm. However, water is also a formidable force during hurricanes. Storm surges, which are abnormal rises in sea level, can pose a major threat to coastal communities. These surges are caused by the combination of low atmospheric pressure, high winds, and the forward motion of the hurricane pushing water towards the shore. As the storm approaches land, the surge can inundate coastal areas, leading to widespread flooding and eroding coastlines. The sheer volume and force of water can result in the destruction of homes, infrastructure, and vegetation. The impact of the wind and water depends on the location and the vulnerability of the affected areas. Coastal regions are more susceptible to storm surge and flooding, making water damage a more significant concern. On the other hand, areas further inland may experience more wind damage as the storm weakens while traveling over land. However, both wind and water can cause devastating effects during a hurricane. It is often the combination of the two that leads to the most extensive damage.

Which aspect of a hurricane produces the most damage?

There is not one aspect of a hurricane that produces the most damage. The powerful winds associated with hurricanes are destructive. These winds can reach speeds of over 100 MPH and can uproot trees, demolish buildings, and cause widespread destruction. Additionally, the storm surge caused by a hurricane contributes to significant damage. A storm surge is a rise in sea level near the coast that occurs because of the strong winds and low atmospheric pressure associated with a hurricane. A surge of water can inundate coastal areas, causing flooding and widespread destruction to homes, infrastructure, and natural habitats. The heavy rainfall associated with hurricanes can also lead to extensive damage. Torrential rain can cause flash flooding, landslides, and erosion, further exacerbating the destruction caused by the storm. The combination of these factors can lead to the formation of tornadoes within a hurricane. These tornadoes, often called “spun-up” tornadoes, can cause additional devastation by tearing through communities and adding to the overall destruction. Overall, it is the combination of powerful winds, storm surge, heavy rainfall, and the potential for tornadoes that make hurricanes so destructive. The damage caused by hurricanes can be catastrophic, resulting in loss of life, displacement of communities, and long-term economic and environmental impacts.
