A huge thank you to Trent Armstrong and your amazing team for replacing our AC unit so quickly. My husband is a 100% disabled Purple Heart veteran, and without properly working air conditioning, he would have had to leave our home. Your prompt response truly saved the day. We are also deeply proud to know that Bold City hires so many veterans across the Army, Navy, and Marines. Thank you for everything you do!

Bold City HVAC was professional, courteous, and did a fantastic job from start to finish. When they encountered a challenge during our installation, they quickly made the necessary adjustments and completed the job perfectly. Their attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality really stood out. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable HVAC service.

I was not going to leave this review as I know negative reviews can be devastating for small businesses, but Bold City just reached out to me out of the blue offering their services which reminded me of my experience with them. I also saw how combative the owner is to negative reviews, putting the blame on the customer and refusing to take any responsibility for their poor service and aggressive sales tactics, so I thought it time to share what occurred in my case. Two years ago, my AC went out in the middle of summer. I called Bold City based on the number of positive reviews and they came out quickly, but when they did the tech told me my compressor was bad and it was going to be a very expensive fix and I had to decide if I wanted to fix it or just get a new unit. I asked the tech MULTIPLE times to check if it was the capacitor as I had been previously told it was on its last leg, and he told me that it was not and basically that my lack of addressing the capacitor 6 months earlier likely broke the compressor. They sent me quotes for both options, and at first I trusted them and was just weighing the two options, but something told me to get a second opinion the next day. I called a much smaller company out and sure enough—it was the capacitor. My unit was running fine within 30 minutes of this OTHER company’s arrival and is still working like a charm two years later. The fix was under $300. Don’t buy the owner’s attempts at pushing blame back on the customer. I understand that it’s a business and they’re in it for the money, but so are we. Protect yourselves and at least get a second opinion if they ever give you an outlandish quote.

UPDATE: Gotta love being bullied by a “local business”. Original: I would not recommend Bold City based on our experience and would advise others to proceed with caution. We had a new AC system installed by Bold City in July 2025, and unfortunately our experience since then has been extremely frustrating. The unit stopped working twice within the first few months (November 2025 and January 2026). Each time, we were told a wire had come loose and that it was a one-time issue that “shouldn’t happen again.” While I can only go off what I was told, this is how it was explained to me at the time. In March 2026, the system was serviced for routine maintenance by a different technician, who noted the prior issues and said he tightened all wiring as a precaution. In April 2026, the system stopped working again. When I called Bold City, I was told the soonest availability was mid-day the following day. When I expressed that this was unacceptable given the repeated issues with a nearly new system, there was no urgency or apology—just that it was my only option. We ended up calling another company we had used previously, who came out within two hours and identified that the unit had been wired incorrectly during installation, had never been properly configured, and was not set to operate in the multi-stage cooling mode that this system is designed for—one of the primary reasons we chose this type of unit. I followed up with Bold City the next day and left a message requesting to speak with the owner. The operations manager returned my call instead. Rather than acknowledging the issue, the focus was on explaining why their installation was not at fault, including that they had contacted the manufacturer for assistance during installation and followed the instructions provided. I requested reimbursement for the diagnostic fee of $84 from the second company and was told it would be looked into, but I have not received any response over the last 3 days since it was brought to their attention. AC systems are a significant investment, and newer units are expected to operate efficiently and reliably. Ours did not, due to the installation and configuration issues described above. Combined with the lack of accountability and follow-up, this experience is unacceptable. I will not be working with this company again.

I think that my email to Mirza Pilakovic, owner of Bold City Heating and Air, explains the problem I had (and continue to have with them since there has been no response to my email). Text from that email follows: "Recently, the thermostat that you installed with the system finally died, and since it was such a small thing, I simply had my handyman install a new one. I explained to him that it was a heat pump, and I found a very simple non-programmable thermostat (not easy to find) that would work with a heat pump. After he installed the thermostat, I had a problem with it, so the handyman recommended that his friend, also a handyman but with more knowledge of HVAC, look at it. He did, and he said the problem was that I did not have a heat pump; it was just an air conditioner. I told him that wasn't possible, and I even pulled up the emails between you and me and showed him that the proposal and the invoice both clearly stated that this was a Trane heat pump, model number 4TTR4030L 1000AA. I have attached copies of all of our correspondence and the invoice from you. The handyman told me clearly that all I had was an a/c unit with a heat strip, and that it is not a heat pump. Can you please explain? Once again, in all of our email correspondence, on the proposal and on the invoice itself, it is clearly stated that this was a heat pump, which is what I wanted. And, if some sort of mistake was made by Bold City, I do want the heat pump described on the invoice now." Once again, there has been no response from Bold City, and as far as I know, I still do not have the Trane heat pump I bought and paid for from Bold City.
