Absolutely Horrible Experience – Breach of Contract, Poor Communication, and Negligence
I would never recommend Aztec Plumbing & Drains after my experience.
We hired them to epoxy-line our cast iron drain system. During the sales appointment, we were very clearly told that both main horizontal sewer lines would be cleaned and lined with epoxy. The only pipes excluded were the vertical drains from the sinks, showers, and laundry. That understanding also matches the written scope of work, which states the liner would be applied to all “Main” sewer lines while excluding vertical drains.
Instead, the entire project became one disappointment after another.
• They changed our work schedule without notifying us.
The project was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. My husband and I arranged our work schedules and requested PTO so someone could be home.
No one showed up when expected.
Only after I called did I learn the schedule had effectively shifted to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. No courtesy call. No email. No text.
• They changed the scope of work after the job had already started.
On Wednesday they only prepped one line and told my father the second line “wasn’t covered.”
That completely contradicted what was sold to us.
The next morning my husband specifically asked the technicians whether both lines would be cleaned and epoxy coated. They assured him they would.
Yet after working only about three hours, they left.
From everything I observed, they only worked on the kitchen line. The bathroom line was not touched that day, despite later texting me that everything was complete.
• The amount of work performed does not match what we were told.
This was presented as a multi-day project.
Instead, one day consisted of a short prep visit, and another day consisted of roughly three hours of work before they claimed the job was finished.
When I asked for pictures and an explanation of exactly what had been completed, I couldn’t get clear answers.
After speaking with the office, the sales representative backed off from what we had been told from the beginning—that both main lines were included. That only made the entire situation even more confusing.
During our conversation I was told our discussion had been recorded.
When I asked to hear the recording—because I am confident in what was promised—the conversation suddenly stopped.
That left me with more questions than answers. Specially because is illegal to record someone at their own home in FL. It’s a 3rd grade felony ….
Their negligence caused one of the worst days I’ve had in a long time.
The most heartbreaking part had nothing to do with plumbing. The technicians left my side gate open. My rabbits, Oreo and Pretzel, escaped. Pretzel was eventually found injured and now needs veterinary care.
Oreo is still missing. These aren’t “just rabbits.” They’re members of our family.
Not once did anyone tell me they were going into the yard, and regardless, closing gates behind you is basic responsibility when working at someone’s home.
I am writing this while holding back tears.
I’m currently pregnant, trying to stay calm for my baby, while dealing with the fear of losing a pet that I love because someone couldn’t take five seconds to latch a gate.
That is completely unacceptable. As of today, I do not feel this project has been completed as promised.
My husband and I will be meeting with management to demand that the work either be completed exactly as contracted—with all warranties honored—or that we receive an appropriate refund.
If this is not resolved, I will be sharing my experience everywhere I can: local community groups, neighborhood pages, pet rescue organizations, animal advocacy groups, and every platform where homeowners deserve to know how we were treated.
When you spend over $10,000, you expect professionalism, communication, honesty, and respect for your home.
Unfortunately, we received none of those.
