The home buying process started off very well. Our sales representative was professional, helpful, and made the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, things changed after we moved forward with the home inspection and final walkthrough.
Some of the issues we pointed out were fixed, but many were not. Our biggest concern is the HVAC system. This is a 3,800-square-foot home with only one AC unit, and the temperature is very uneven throughout the house. One of the upstairs bedrooms gets extremely cold, and the pantry is also much colder than the rest of the house. At the same time, the primary bedroom barely receives any airflow, making it uncomfortable.
To be fair, the HVAC technicians have come out several times to inspect the system. However, they have not provided a real solution. Each visit ends with them simply adjusting the fan settings, but the problem remains unresolved.
Another disappointment is that our backyard was left without a fence, even though most of the neighboring homes have one. We have also noticed cracks developing throughout the walls. When we reported them, we were told that after one year they would simply apply caulk to the cracks. For a brand-new home, that does not seem like an appropriate long-term solution.
In addition, the glass shower door in the primary bathroom was never installed, even though it was supposed to be included with the home.
We purchased our home from Landsea Homes, which is now operating as Risewell Homes. Based on our experience, I encourage anyone considering buying from this builder to inspect every detail carefully before signing the final paperwork. Make sure everything that was promised is completed and that any concerns are fully resolved before closing. Once you close, getting permanent solutions can be much more difficult.
I truly wanted to have a positive experience, but unfortunately that has not been the case.
