- GGGabriel GskiMay 21, 20261.0I paid for a diagnostic and specifically verified with the manager beforehand that they are authorized Genie dealers with the proper OEM software. A technician came out, scanned and cleared codes — but used a generic computer that cannot clear red codes, which requires OEM software. I only discovered this after reassembling everything myself and finding the codes still present. When I called back, they refused to return without charging me again — claiming I had only requested a ‘code read,’ and that the OEM system is reserved for their bigger clients like FPL. I was never told any of this upfront. I was willing to pay for the return visit, but given that they came unprepared the first time, the least they could do was offer a discount. Instead, they had the audacity to say the proper diagnostic could take up to four hours due to the complexity of the system — yet somehow none of this was mentioned before they took my money the first time. I paid for a service they were not equipped or willing to properly perform, and now they want full price to finish the job they should have done right from the start.
