I do not ever write reviews, but thought it was necessary for anyone considering spending their hard earned money on a home remodel. I used B&B Contracting once before for a few small projects and their work seemed decent. It is very difficult to find good contractors nowadays. So, I called Alan Billingsley, the owner and decided to hire them for my bedroom remodel. The only three things it entailed were changing my old carpet to LVP flooring, to fix several cracked seems in the walls, and to repaint the entire room. He quoted me at $20,000, which I thought was very expensive, but if it was gonna be a quality job, I wouldn’t mind paying the price. The quote for the job wasn’t itemized at all, even after specifically requesting it to be done. Not sure what kind of old program B&B is using for their quotes, but it’s not up to date. Every other contracting company I ever received a quote from was always itemized, line by line. Moving on to the actual work, that didn’t go well at all. The workers showed up everyday, which was a positive, but the craftsmanship was very shoddy. I had to call Alan several times over a three month span to have him come over to show him all the mistakes in the work. I felt it was odd that he never showed up on his own to check the progress or inspect the work. No care was taken as the floor molding, which had to be taken taken off and was to be reused after the new flooring was completed, was just thrown in a big pile, getting scratched and messed up. Worst of all when the flooring was be cut to size, the worker sawed over the flooring he just put down and put several cuts in several different pieces of the new flooring. When I discovered it and told Alan, he basically acted like it was no big deal, which was very disappointing. I felt it was an unnecessary waste of my new purchased flooring money and my time. When the molding was put back on, it wasn’t done properly either, there were a lot of gaps and it just looked terrible. The wall repair and painting, which should’ve be a straight forward job, also turned out terrible. It barely looked like they even spackled and sanded any of the cracked seems. The painting didn’t receive a full 2 coats and had a lot of small spots missed, and a lot of small spill spots on the new flooring. This is a warning to possible future clients of B&B to be aware of the issues I encountered, which did not mesh with the $20,000 that I spent on flooring, wall repairs and a paint job.
