Champagne at Sol Systems was immensely helpful in getting our newly revised system under contract. We really appreciated the time and expertise she brought to the task. Her style of personal, caring attention is rare and becoming more rare every day.

I contracted with Sol Systems 10 years ago when I had my solar system installed. At the time I had concerns about the SREC contract I signed but was insured by Sol Systems that i would receive the entire amount of my contract. My contract amount was for $15,560 and to date I have received only $14,360, which is a years worth of SREC income. Now my contract has expired and will not receive the balance of my contract. There is a 6 month lag between when you generate an SREC to the time you are paid, which immediately puts you behind on payments after you sign a contract. Not only can you not get in touch with them by phone, they do not respond to emails. This company is a rip off, do not sign any contract if you decide to install solar. I am out $1,200. I am going to contract my state and local congressmen about this company's deceiving business practice. Received a response. I was told by both the installer of my solar system and by Sol Systems that I would receive the full value of my contract. Furthermore, I signed the contract in March, the system wasn't installed at my house until the beginning of July and the system wasn't activated by the state of Massachusetts until the end of August, therefore I lost 5 months of the generating SRECS in the contract because I signed the contract before it actually was activated by the state. I was just doing what the installer and Sol Systems instructed me to do. It's just a run around by Sol Systems, DO NOT DEAL with them!!!

Had the pleasure of working with Champagne in customer service. She went the extra mile and was extremely patient helping me understand what I needed to. She responded to multiple emails and sent me links, videos, and everything I could need to both solve my problem and educate me.

The good: The team was responsive to inquiries, requests for support, and additional information. The install team was incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, quick, and made sure that the work done on the house would be done safely and last. Only one message in the 16 months we engaged them was not responded to—how to make monthly payments immediately after installation. Warning: Do not assume that the system will be zero cost to you. In the year I've had my solar panels, only three bills have been lower than average. Further, my account has produced only 1 SREC. I did get $5k in tax savings but will end up paying for most of the cost of the panels even if I sell the house (unless I choose not to pay). Oh, and don't expect any notifications about paying your bill in advance. I asked and received no response until 4 days before the $3k lump sum first payment was due. The bad: The process takes forever--six months to install and an additional three months to register to be eligible for SREC payments. I fully understand COVID and issues with a neighbor's roof causing delays. But it took a month for inspections and financing to wrap and an additional three months for the SREC contract to be filed. Finally, there's no correspondence about your initial bill (min was about $3k) until a few days before it is due. I was not given access to my loan account until I reached out to gain it and there's no way to pay your bill online.
