Zach and Tyler installed a water filtration system. This old house is on a well and has had high levels of iron since I moved in years ago. The filtration system eliminates the iron and other particles, softens the water and makes it basically tasteless. They were professional and courteous. When an unforeseen problem arose with the drainage, Zach was back out to figure out a solution. I would highly recommend Farmington Valley Plumbing. Anne

Keith and Sam came to complete installation on my Ascent ll basement toilet. Keith is strong in his knowledge about this system. He was easily able to instruct me on proper use and maintenance. Sam is highly organized and methodical. He identified a problem with another toilet and the issue was quickly resolved. While Keith has a quiet confidence Sam carries the internal control-freak of other Marines. That combination during a plumbing headache is priceless!

It was a pleasure working with Farmington Valley Plumbing. From the first call with the receptionist all the way through to the service being done, I felt like I was working with patient, honest, and knowledgeable people. Derek and Mal came by to do the work. I have a very complicated and unusual hot water setup and they spent the time to figure out how my system works and what was going wrong (and there were several issues!). They fixed the first issue and tested to make sure that part was working as it should. We then tested the second part (mixing valve) to see if it really need to be replaced or not. Testing indicated that it should be replaced and they went right into replacing the valve. We thoroughly tested the repaired system and things looked great. We wrapped up and happily walked through signatures and easy payment. Very happy with Derek and Mal. Thanks!

The price quoted was 25% higher than the next highest quote for the exact same furnace. I wrote and told them I would be going with another provider. They replied talking about price matching. Well, that tells me they knew they were over-charging to begin with. Also, the proposal was open-ended. They quoted a furnace and gave a price and then went on to say they were going to do a complete workup on the size when they came to do the work and that the furnace could change, i.e. higher priced. They also showed me a snapshot of a pipe that was leaky and they could give me an estimate of how much it would be to fix it while they were here doing the furnace. When I told the provider who did replace the furnace, he said that's all going to be replaced anyhow. Based on this experience, I could never recommend this company.

WARNING! To homeowners: Predatory scare tactics and massive overcharging Avoid this company, especially if you do not have extensive plumbing knowledge. My girlfriend called Farmington Valley Plumbing to diagnose a whole-house water pressure issue affecting both our hot and cold water. Instead of doing a real diagnosis, the technician hooked a gauge to our older water heater drain valve. Predictably, opening the old valve caused sediment to jam it open. The technician caused this leak, blamed it on our equipment, and used the resulting puddle to panic and coerce a female homeowner into an immediate $500+ repair to change a $15 valve and do a basic tank flush. To make matters worse, a water heater flush does absolutely nothing to fix a house-wide water pressure issue affecting both cold and hot lines. The "repair" was completely unnecessary for the problem we called about, and the pricing was severe gouging for 15 minutes of work. They weaponized technical jargon to take advantage of someone under duress. We have filed formal complaints with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) and the BBB. Look elsewhere for an honest, ethical plumbing company that won't create problems just to force an overpriced sale.
