Plumbers don't know how to install plumbing. I hired this company to install the waste and overflow for my new tub. The guy who came seemed nice, but he had no idea what he was doing and definitely should not be on the job by himself. First off, he was clearly struggling the whole time, and seemed to be exerting a lot of force to do something that shouldn't need much force, which made me concerned that he was going to break my tub or the new plumbing. After a couple hours, he said he was done, but when we went to test it, the drain was leaking. He then made multiple attempts to fix it, and even needed me to hold the drain pipe for him while he tried to screw it in. Finally, he managed to screw it in, but it was at an angle, and there was caulking all over the edges, so it looked bad, but honestly I didn't have faith that he could do any better, so I just paid and let him go. Then, after he left, I realized the the switch on the overflow that closes the drain pipe was stuck in the locked up position, so I was stuck with a drain that not only looked bad, but wasn't even fully functional. I called the company to ask to have it fixed and asked if they could send someone more experienced. The guy I talked to said they had the plumbers fix their own work, but that he could come with the guy to supervise. Only the first guy showed up. After about 20 minutes, he said he fixed the problem and left. I went to test it, and the switch now moves, but it doesn't actually block the drain like it is supposed to. At this point I'm just going to learn and do the job myself. Don't waste your money on someone with less knowledge than you can find on YouTube. Honestly at the end, I wouldn't have minded if he started to go on YouTube for advice
*Update: it turns out the plumber did ruin the drain threading by putting too much force on it when it wasn't aligned, I included a picture
