  Got a second opinion on a repair for an old furnace. The tech clearly knew what he was doing and identified a number of issues, then sent me three repair quotes, the highest of which was around $5,500. I told him I already had a quote for a brand-new furnace installed for $4,000. He agreed that replacing the furnace made more sense, but said their replacement would start at over $10,000. He spent about 10 minutes explaining why I shouldn’t trust the other company offering the lower price. I understand that companies need to make a profit and that prices vary. But I ultimately had a brand-new furnace installed for $4,000, saving more than $6,000 compared with their starting price. The company is one I've worked with for several years and has always done a good job with their installs. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. There’s a difference between charging a premium and charging more than double while trying to convince a homeowner that a much less expensive option can’t be trusted. I worry about homeowners who don’t know to get multiple quotes and may end up paying thousands more than necessary.

  Jacob G is a polite, professional whom explained the drain clearing process and I learned valuable piping information plus a maintenance cleaner to help prevent clogging. Great business man!!
