âBuy an old house, they said⌠Itâll be fun, they saidâŚâ
My outside hose bib was having some pressure issues and leaking, so I called Big Cat to see if they could help fix it. They theorized it was busted from freezing, but the hard part was actually accessing it to prove it was a freeze break for insurance purposes and to get it fixed.
They did an awesome job navigating the tight access, proved the break, and got it fully repaired. They were incredibly professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommend!

In addition to the furnace replacement in December, we had the air conditioner serviced last month by Big Cat. Great, professional techs (thank you Blake) with each service call. We'll continue to use Big Cat in the future!

I donât usually write reviews, but these guys absolutely earned one.
What started as a leaking kitchen sink drain turned into one of those, âWell⌠thatâs a much bigger problem than I expectedâ situations. The pipe runs down through my sonâs room and underneath our concrete slab. Being convinced I could fix it myself (because YouTube has never lied to me before), I started tearing into it. It didnât take long to realize the cast-iron pipe was in far worse shape than I imagined.
Thatâs when I called Big Cat Plumbing, Heating & Cooling.
From the moment they arrived, I knew I was in good hands. Sam, the lead plumber, was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, professional, honest, and took the time to explain everything without making me feel foolish for trying it myself. After inspecting everything, they found that it wasnât just the kitchen drainâthe cast-iron piping underneath much of the house had deteriorated and needed attention.
This was a major job, but Sam and his crew handled it with incredible skill and professionalism. They went above and beyond, communicated every step of the process, treated our home with respect, and made a stressful situation so much easier than it could have been.
If youâre thinking about tackling a plumbing project yourself, hereâs my advice: know your limits. Mine apparently comes right after spending an entire day running a jackhammer through concrete, only to discover Iâd barely scratched the surface of the actual problem. My back filed for retirement, my arms stopped working, and thatâs when I called Big Cat. Looking back, I probably shouldâve just started there.
Huge thanks to Sam and the entire team. Hopefully I wonât need a plumber again anytime soonâbut if I do, I know exactly who Iâm calling.

I fixed my swamp cooler myself. Itâs producing about 67 degrees inside on a 93 degree day. The contractors in this state are the worst Iâve ever seen. Unreliable, they do not diagnose issues properly and do not seem to want to make (or I should say "earn") any money really. I finally had enough and just figured it out myself. The guy who came out did not take the time to diagnose the real issues. It needed new pads (got those for $20 at Loweâs for 4 of them --- they wanted to charge $600 to change these out), needed a new spider ($15) and needed the pump cleaned out a little -- I unplugged it, looked at the bottom, saw a few strands of the old pad in there and removed them, plugged it back in and lo and behold -- swamp cooler now running like a champ. That part only took about 15 minutes.
Donât feel bad though, the other 2 guys who came out before your guy didnât do squat either. Iâm sure BigCat does decent enough on plumbing and hvac â I guess. But the guy didnât help at all with my swamp cooler. All this and I would have been happy to spend a lot of money on the fix but the dude did not seem interested. It all worked out though because I now understand this thing backwards and forwards. If youâre having trouble with yours, look me up on LinkedIn, I have a sort of unique name, youâll find me easily and Iâll be happy to give you a hand if I can. If BigCat wouldnât have spammed me on my phone asking for a review so much, I wouldnât have posted this. Thanks!
