  I had passed Heidelberg Motors on my monthly lunch meeting in the area. Recently I was at the dealership for an oil change. I was advised of a “critical” suspension repair that the dealership deemed was of "critical" concern and necessary. The quote was to be honest quite high. As I was traveling that week and I advised I would follow-up upon my return. The following day I had a lunch mtg in the area and as I was passing by I stopped in Heidelberg just get a ballpark est. for the repairs suggested by the dealer. The approx. quote was much more reasonable. While the woman art the front desk worked up the est. another customer came in. We chatted and he said he has been most satisfied with Heidelberg and would not take his German car anywhere else (talk about an endorsement). As I was traveling that week, I said I would call and make an appt. as I had the approx. quote in-hand. I called and made an appointment. Earlier today I brought the car in; explained to the owner the situation; what the dealer advised and so forth. Within a few hours I received a call; the parts needed were partially unavailable (should do two at same time, only one available) thus they could do the repair but more concerning I was advised by the owner the repair was not necessarily warranted at the present time. I was intrigued and advised I would come by in the afternoon. I went over and spoke to the owner I met with in the morning. He advised yes, there was some telltale signs of wear but in his opinion AND if it were his car the work was not needed immediately and just to keep an eye on it (with that said, I did make a follow-up appt for 3 months from now). Granted I had options as I could have done the partial repair done. However, for the owner to be so honest and with integrity concerning a repair that was estimated between $1,500 and $2,000, I was shocked and most appreciative. My service contract with the dealer is about to end. Granted the dealer is close to my residence and I have been satisfied to date. However the car is getting older, is beyond the warranty and as any car does, it will need both repairs and preventative maintenance. I will be the first to admit, Heidelberg not the easiest location for me to access i.e. central/west Denver and I am in SE. However the owner’s honesty and integrity were so refreshing and appreciated I can deal with a little inconvenience in return for honest service and pricing.
