They took our ~$50,000, did a hack job, and Groundworks LLC knowingly left our home uninhabitable and at risk of structural collapse. Roughly half of the original 100-year-old hard wood floor was torn up so that these so-called “Foundation Repair Experts” could stabilize our home’s pier and beam foundation. We saw the ads on facebook, we heard the ads on pandora -- this was a huge investment for us, and we trusted them to do the job right. Instead, Groundworks LLC left our home in ruins. Our flooring contractor came to start his work and was astonished by how bad a job they did. He refused to lay the new floor on top of the foundation as they left it. He even pointed out that the substandard work had left the foundation worse than before they started. We immediately informed Groundworks of this, of us being left with no floors due to their poor work, and they have done nothing. No follow up by the project manager to remediate things, nothing from customer service, no one from service reached out. They claim to warranty their work, but as I sit down to write this review nearly six months (167 days to be exact) have passed since Groundworks bailed on the job and left our home in shambles. They are well aware of our and the flooring contractor’s concerns, which have now been verified by two independent structural engineers. Six months have passed and we are still looking down at a dirt floor. We’re breathing it in, and our poor dogs are breathing it in. To make things worse, we’ve asked several foundation repair companies to give us an estimate to repair Groundworks LLC's work, and they all said the same thing, that they 'will not touch another foundation contractor’s work'. What are we supposed to do now? All of our furniture had to be removed from the home in order to do this project, thinking the project would only take two weeks, we put it out back and wrapped it all in tarps. There were multiple stormy nights that found me out back dealing with the tarps tearing, or flying away, and I don’t even have the heart to look these days, knowing that it is all likely destroyed from the last storm. You might be asking yourself, what are these people doing to resolve this? Well, we are currently pursuing every legal and regulatory avenue available through our state. Between the engineer and the attorney we’ve had to shell out over $12k so far. And, all we have is Groundworks LLC’s attorney make some threatening remarks then flat out ghosting us as we plead for a resolution so that we can put our house and our lives back together. I’ll leave you with this: they may very well be able to remedy a sinking sidewalk, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND having Groundworks LLC come anywhere near your home’s foundation. I hope this reaches you in time. From the Green residence in Mesa, Arizona

Groundworks did exceptional work raising the foundation of our 1962 Poway home. All around communication was excellent. Ethan, Chris, Aaron, Ceaser, Andrew and Julio are all American citizens, which is important to us and one of our requirements in order to do the work. We like to keep our local guys working. All were hard working, professionals and did no goofing around while on the job. They called before arrival and always followed through. They explained the whole process, before and after, and made sure we were happy with the results. They cleaned well after the job was done. Diego in the Sales department was also excellent and did not give us the hard sell. He knew his job well and gave us an estimate, same day, face to face, and was very courteous and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Groundworks for foundation issues. And cement lifting jobs. This is a costly repair, so get a good company like them to do your work. They have a good warranty, and will cover their work as long as you own the house, as well as free yearly inspections. Our gratitude goes out to Groundworks for a job well done.

Note that any review with the full name or a bunch of first names was generated by employees, friends, family. This company based out of Virginia has over 700 complaints in que. Their fake reviews throughout the web are not to be trusted nor is the BBB A+ rating. Businesses have to pay to be accredited through BBB. When we were deciding to use Groundworks or not we just looked at the A+…why read the reviews. 25000 dollars later, ghosted, lifetime warranty not honored, work done that didn’t need done, I went back and actually read the individual reviews and was shocked. The BBB rating is only going to get dinged if you don’t reply to the complaint..nothing to do with all of the shifty practices of this company which are very well documented on the Virgina BBB site. We used Virginia because even though their private equity financing is out of California, Virginia Beach is its headquarters.

I had Groundworks complete structural work in my crawlspace, and I was very pleased with the experience. Chris, Ethan, and Aaron did an excellent job from start to finish. They were professional, hardworking, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. They took the time to explain what they were doing and made sure the work was done properly. The new supports look solid and professionally installed, and they left the work area in good condition when they were finished. Chris, Ethan, and Aaron represented Groundworks very well, and I would definitely recommend this crew to anyone needing crawlspace or structural work. Thank you, guys, for a job well done!

I got an appointment for an inspection very quickly, and Kristian contacted me beforehand to confirm his arrival, which was right on time. He is very knowledgeable and professional, and the inspection was thorough, with detailed and clear explanations of the concrete problems and how they could be resolved. I especially appreciated that he listened to me and made sure all my questions were answered. Very positive experience. I decided to hire Groundworks to fix an uneven driveway with several trip hazards due to rising areas in the concrete. The team arrived on time and was very courteous, explaining what they would be doing and asking if I had any questions. It took only a few hours to repair everything, and the team foreman walked through the job with me upon completion. I was happy with the finished work and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs concrete repairs without the hassle of demolition and replacement.
