  I had a terrible experience buying a remnant piece to be made into a custom rug. The remnant was cut too short size despite being provided a thorough diagram with many detailed measurements. I informed them of the issue and it took months to remedy. They tried sewing the pieces together but I wasn't happy with the visible seam, so they gave me the options of a refund or choosing another remnant. I expressed that I didn't want to use more time coming back to the store to choose another carpet- I had been to the store 4 times at that point, including dropping it off once I realized it was cut improperly, and another time to view how it looked sewed together. Then they offered to find the same rug at their San Carlos location, which I would have appreciated more had they been proactive. I followed up with the salesperson (Gregory) several times with no response until I finally reached a manager who told me it was cut and would be delivered from the San Carlos store the following week. I had to continually chase down updates until I reached another store manager who had no clue about my order. I finally was able to get my issue escalated to the general manager who notified me the carpet had never been cut or transported. I asked for some type of compensation to make up for the terrible experience and got no response, but he did end up providing delivery and installation for free. The only positive process of this entire process was the delivery and installation (thanks to those two men whose names I didn't catch). I made my purchase on April 1, let them know about the incorrect cut on April 23, and it wasn't remedied until June 11. Major headache!! I had planned to purchase another custom rug from them but now I'm too turned off to do business with them.

  We had a great experience with California Carpet, whose staff were responsive, knowledgeable, timely in their communication, and provided us frequent updates along the way! The price was also competitive as we compared pricing for the same product with other local companies. They were quick to come out for measurements as well. The only delay was that the carpet was on backorder, however this was not in the control of their company, and they set up installation very quickly upon the carpet's arrival. Would highly recommend and we love the new carpet!!

  Nattha was extremely helpful in my picking out a runner for the first time . She explained the options and the factors that I should consider . Luis did a very good job of installing the carpet which was a tight linear pattern going up winding stairs--so a tough job and he did it very very well.
