  Extremely disappointed - poor customer service before service even began. Unfortunately, I can't even rate the quality of Action Air's HVAC service because they never showed up. Our air conditioner was still running but it was only producing slightly cooled air. With an excessive heat warning forecast for the weekend, we wanted to have it evaluated as soon as possible. Based on Action Air's positive reviews, veteran on status, and online availability, I scheduled an appointment through their website on Monday for Thursday between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.. The online scheduling process was simple, and I received both a confirmation email and a text reminder stating that an Action Air employee would arrive. During that appointment window. Everything appeared to be confirmed. To make sure I was home, I took the afternoon off work, rescheduled employee interviews and meetings, and waited. At 4:27 p.m. - after waiting four and a half hours into the scheduled appointment window - I finally received a phone call informing me that they would not be coming. I was then told they were aware their online scheduling system had been having problems and that the next available appointment wasn't until August 18th. I'm sorry... What?? If you already knew your online scheduling system wasn't functioning properly, why was it still accepting appointments? At a minimum, why wasn't I contacted when I made the appointment, the day before the appointment, or even first thing that morning? Instead, I lost an afternoon of work waiting for an appointment that your company apparently knew it was never going to keep. It wasn't just an inconvenience - it demonstrated a complete lack of respect for a customer's time. As a fellow veteran, I intentionally seek out veteran owned businesses because I believe in supporting those who have served. That made this experience even more disappointing. Customer service isn't just about fixing HVAC systems; it's about communication, accountability, and respecting the commitments you make to your customers. I sincerely hope Action Air addresses the scheduling issues and improves how they communicate with customers. No one should spend half a day waiting only to be told, at the very end of the appointment, that the appointment was never going to happen. DO BETTER!!!

  Labor cost was EXORBITANT! The three parts that were replaced were under warranty, so the only cost to me was five hours of labor. I paid $1882. Do the math. That's $376 an hour! I wish I had taken the time to get quotes from other companies. This is price gouging. Update: The office finally returned my call five days later to inform me they would reimburse me $632 because of a miscommunication between the service technician and his manager. This amount was the difference between the total I paid $1882 and the cost of five hours of labor at $250 an hour. Good for them for doing the right thing.

  I’m not impressed, I had them do the air conditioning and furnace tuning and that went fine, so I hired them to also clean our air vents and I was not impressed by the guy who came to clean, he seemed more interested in selling other products and did a pretty sloppy job of actually doing our vents, forgot one too and had to remind him. The kind of equipment they use for cleaning vents wasn’t impressive either, seemed pretty superficial. I’ve gotten home vents cleaned before several times and I know what a good agency is but since we are new to San Diego we had to look for a new agency.

  Thomas B. went way over and above what I expected when explaining the, guiding me through, and informing me of the process and equipment necessary for replacement of my HVAC unit. He even showed his dedication by writing out the technical information required by my HOA's Architecture Committee. Mainly, all the time expended was done with the best disposition and lots and lots of patience. I congratulate Action Air Conditioning & Heating for the two of their representatives I met today: Fernando as diagnostician of my unit and Thomas B, their "comfort advisor". I'm elated that my friend recommended this company. I can only hope that this excellence in service will be present during the installation and subsequent contacts. Thank you Thomas.

  Neil and his team did an amazing job from start to finish. Everything went smoothly, even if I had a very strict timeline to get this AC unit installed and furnace replaced, since I will have guests very soon. Neil always answered every question I had in the span of a few hours or even minutes, and he also sent three installers to finish the job in one day rather than two, so I wouldn't have to cancel my plans. I really appreciate all the effort and hard work put into my project and I definitely recommend them to anyone!!
