  We recently completed our detached ADU project with Quality Choice Construction & Painting, and after nearly three years, we officially passed final inspection and received our certificate of occupancy. It has been a long journey, and we’re grateful to finally have a completed ADU. Omar and his team were always kind, respectful, and easy to work with. One thing we especially appreciated was Omar’s patience and flexibility throughout the project. We didn’t have all of the funds available upfront, and he worked with us to keep the project moving, which meant a great deal to our family. We also felt the overall pricing was fair compared to other quotes we received. If I could offer one piece of advice to future homeowners, it would be to stay actively involved in your project from start to finish—especially when your project requires coordination with agencies like the City of Oakland and PG&E. No matter who your contractor is, they are often juggling multiple projects at once. I found that regularly checking permit status, communicating directly with the City and utility companies when appropriate, and understanding the process myself helped keep our project moving forward. Working as a true partner with your contractor can make a significant difference. In the end, we have a beautiful ADU that our family is proud of, and we’re excited to finally be able to use it.   Quality Choice Construction & Painting did an incredible job on my kitchen remodel! I had very specific requests and projects manager Alex and his team members were accommodating to my type- A personality.
