If I could give zero stars, I would. My elderly mother’s air conditioner stopped working, so she called Cypress Air in the San Gabriel Valley. After inspecting the system, they told her she needed an entirely new HVAC system and claimed the job would cost around $28,000, saying it would be even more because of asbestos concerns. Thankfully, before signing anything, we got a second opinion from a company recommended by a trusted friend. They diagnosed the actual problem, repaired the existing system for $1,400, and had it running like new. They also told my mother the unit was in great overall condition and that anyone insisting it needed immediate replacement was not giving her an honest assessment. Whether this was incompetence or an attempt to sell an unnecessary replacement, the result was the same: a homeowner was told to spend tens of thousands of dollars when a relatively inexpensive repair solved the problem. Always get a second opinion before replacing an HVAC system. In our experience, doing so saved my mother more than $26,000. Based on what happened to us, I would strongly recommend staying away from Cypress Air.

I’m under service contract. Cody was great polite, nice guy, pleasant to deal with, changed my air filter. Checked the whole unit. I have a black light which Cypress replaced I think last year and certainly makes a huge difference with dust and allergies. Highly recommend.

The tech, Ivan, was very professional and informative. He explained about the now very small freon leak on our 11 yr old AC unit that has developed since last year's inspection. He added more freon stating this should hold for the summer, but recommend replacing the unit in the future. The price of the freon seemed pricey ($403.79 for 2 lbs of freon) as did the replacement of a new AC unit ($11,954.00 which included a loyalty discount of $600.00). Cypress installed our existing unit 11 yrs ago and have used them since then for maintenance. We also got a quote for a new 50 gal water heater which also was much more than expected ($3,600). Note that water heater is still working, but is 16 yrs old costing us about $1,400.00 at that time. We are generally very pleased with their service just not how much prices have risen. 4 stars due to prices.

This was the first time using Cypress Heating & Air Conditioning. I liked that fact that they are family owned and NOT controlled by a big corporation. Alex was very knowledgeable about my A/C and advised me of an issue that I was unaware of. I appreciated that he had called that to my attention and not just ignored it. He also informed me about Cypress Service Plan. Two services per year, one in the summer for the A/C, and the other in the winter for the Heater. I found their price to be reasonable and makes total sense to break it into summer and winter. One thing I would like to see offered by Cypress is a Senior Discount. Many businesses are offering Senior Discounts and it really helps the Senior population.
