We’ve had a very disappointing experience with Woodside Homes, particularly when it comes to post-close warranty support and overall quality.
From the beginning, communication around the one-year warranty process was confusing and inconsistent. We were told multiple conflicting things about whether repairs needed to be completed before the 12-month mark or simply reported before that date. Even after submitting a professional inspection report and clearly documenting issues ahead of the deadline, we were repeatedly pressured about scheduling trades quickly due to their internal contractor agreements—not actual warranty requirements. It felt like the burden was being shifted onto us rather than handled by the builder.
The coordination of trades was also extremely frustrating. Contractors showed up earlier than scheduled without notice, forcing us to turn them away and reschedule. There was little regard for our time or availability, despite us trying to be responsive and cooperative throughout the process.
More concerning are the actual issues with the home. We’ve had persistent electrical problems throughout the house (flickering/pulsing lights across multiple rooms), and instead of thoroughly investigating root causes, there were attempts to deflect responsibility—such as claiming warranty voids in certain areas without proper evaluation.
Additionally, we identified multiple construction and installation concerns, including drywall sagging, improper HVAC drainage (which could lead to backup issues), and various finishing defects that go beyond normal “settling.”
The most unacceptable issue, however, was a major leak from our master shower shortly after moving in. Water came through the ceiling into our living room, requiring drywall removal, repairs, and repainting. This turned into a two-week ordeal right after we had just moved into a brand new home—completely unacceptable for new construction.
Overall, the experience has been a mix of poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and disorganized customer service. For a new home purchase, the expectation is peace of mind—not ongoing issues, unclear processes, and constant follow-up just to get basic problems addressed.
Our neighbor also had their fire sprinkler system fail, soaking their entire house top to bottom. Unbelievable.
I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from Woodside.
