This is the 2nd time Cameron came to maintenance our mini split. He's friendly and thorough and I love that he takes the time to educate us on how to keep our mini splits in the best condition.

Updated Review – 2026
I decided to give Carini Home Services another chance, and this experience was much better than my previous one.
My Fujitsu mini-split had been intermittently throwing error codes. After a couple of attempts to diagnose it, Carini eventually sent Dylan.
Naturally, the AC was working perfectly when he arrived.
Dylan didn’t just shrug his shoulders and leave. He opened the unit, ran multiple tests, and eventually got the system to reproduce the exact error codes I had been seeing.
He walked me through what he was testing and narrowed the issue down to a failed thermistor. He even used some AI/ChatGPT assistance, which I found funny because I was standing there using ChatGPT at the same time. The difference was Dylan actually had the tools and knowledge to test the components and confirm the failure with an ohm meter.
His diagnosis was correct.
Dylan explained that replacing the thermistors would be approximately a two-hour job. The total quote came in just under $1,000, and based on that explanation, I agreed.
A week later, he returned with the parts.
I expected him to be there for around two hours.
He finished in 28 minutes.
I was initially pretty happy. The repair worked, the diagnosis was accurate, and my AC was running normally again.
Then I realized I was still being charged the full quoted amount.
When I questioned it, I was told Carini uses flat-rate pricing.
I understand flat-rate pricing. I also understand that I’m paying for experience, training, travel time, diagnostic ability, equipment, and overhead.
My issue is how the price was explained.
I was told it was approximately a two-hour job. I was not told, “This is a flat-rate repair and the price is the same whether it takes 30 minutes or two hours.”
That distinction matters.
If it had been explained that way from the beginning, I would have known exactly what I was agreeing to. Instead, hearing “two-hour job” and then watching it get completed in 28 minutes naturally left me feeling like I overpaid.
That said, I’m still giving Carini 4 stars.
Dylan correctly diagnosed an intermittent problem that had been difficult to reproduce. He fixed it, explained what he was doing, and did not try to convince me that I needed to replace my entire system with a new $20,000–$30,000 setup.
Most importantly, my AC is working.
The one-star deduction is strictly because of the pricing communication. If it’s flat-rate pricing, just explain that clearly upfront.
A quick summary of my previous experience: Carini originally installed my Fujitsu system in 2015, and I gave them 5 stars. In 2022, while the system was still within the warranty period listed on my paperwork, I contacted Carini for service and was told they no longer worked on Fujitsu systems. Since they had installed it, I was disappointed and changed my review to 1 star. (In 2022)
I’m glad I gave them another chance in 2026. This experience was significantly better, and I believe 4 stars is fair.

I thought I had a water leak but Adan looked at the meter and it wasn’t spinning. I felt comfortable when he explained everything to me

Cameron was awesome. AC is working like new now. It was very expensive but at least we didn’t need a new system.
