- RHRick HillJul 29, 20261.0We bought a home with a Mini-Split installed by Carini five years after it was installed. We had Carini come out and check out the system. The tech guy could not figure out how the remote worked. He looked on the Internet and was clueless. He charged us about $80 for the service call. So, about a year later, in July our unit was just not keeping our home cool. So we had a different Tech out (3 hours late) and he at least knew how to operate the remote but showed us the mold growing on the blades. We asked him what it would cost to clean the unit and he quoted us $1,000 and said it would take 2 hours...and starting at 5:30 PM. I said, "Nope" Instead, our son-in-law came over and cleaned the unit with a shop vac. Cost us $200 for dinner.
