The Qualtech team is A+, we recommend them to everyone who asks. We live in center city and it's hard to be sure you're getting a trustworthy group that will finish the job the right way. This team uses only the best brands and they are so on top of customer service. Al and team have kept us cool for the past 8yrs and in a real crisis moment (compressor down, family flying in the next day) they pulled out all the stops to find the part we needed in a neighboring state, pick it up and get the install complete before our family/guests landed. You can't go wrong here.

Be very careful with this company. The tech who came to service our AC unit was terrible. He only show up for about 10 mins and left, charged me $125. He didn't bother to thoroughly checked and inspect the unit. He said the wires were all disassembled. I told him that we had another tech came and inspected the AC unit. He replaced all the wiring. For safety concern, they left the wires disassembled intentionally. But when Qualtech tech came, he was like who disassembled all these wiring, I will have to charge you to hook up all these wiring again, it will take me a lot of time to do this. He didn't say anything about not able to diagnose the AC unit due to the wiring being disassembled, but instead without hooking up the wiring to test the system, he told me that we need to replace the whole unit, he was very sure that it's compressor issue. I clearly asked the tech what is wrong he said the compressor went bad. So I asked how much is the compressor to replace, he told me $5000. When I called into the office the next day, the tech told the office person that it cost $5000 just for the labor cost to replace the compressor, compressor will be additional. I googled the cost of the compressor, only cost $1200 to $3000 including part and labor. So I don't know how he came up with 5k just the labor cost. I also asked about the warranty, he told me that they don't do warranty job for Carrier. But they are actually authorized dealer for the factory Carrier. He denied to do work for carrier! Don't ever trust this company, this technician is pretty bad. They do not do a good job, and they want to charge their customer an arm and a leg. I would not use them!

We had an awesome experience with Qualtech for a full HVAC and furnace replacement of our 20+ year old unit. I got a few estimates from local companies, and their pricing was really fair compared to the competition.
Daniel was super helpful with the estimate, working within our budget instead of trying to upsell us. On install day, Eddie and Elijah were total pros, did clean work, and finished ahead of schedule.
The office support was a huge standout too. Every time I called, I got Erika directly. She knew our case inside and out, so I never had to repeat our backstory. To make things even better, my wife and I had a baby right after the install. Erika was incredibly nice and accommodating, helping us coordinate everything with the city inspector so we didn't have to stress about permitting with a newborn.
I highly recommend them!

I am writing to follow up on the persistent issues with the HVAC system Qualtech installed approximately six years ago. I am requesting a resolution regarding what appears to be an improper initial installation that has led to recurring system failures.
The following timeline details the ongoing problems:
- 3-4 Years Post-Installation: The AC began blowing warm air. A technician found the refrigerant low and refilled it for $260.
- Recent Visit: The system failed again. Your technician found the refrigerant completely depleted and quoted $1,500 solely for a leak detection test, excluding repairs.
- Third-Party Inspection: I hired Service Champions, who performed a leak test for half the cost of your quote. They replaced a leaking Schrader valve but found no leaks in the AC unit, furnace, or liquid line.
- Current Status: Despite the repair and refill, the system still fails to cool in hot weather. Service Champions returned and identified likely contaminants in the liquid line.
Service Champions noted that the filter now requires replacement--necessitating a refrigerant recovery and line purge--which typically occurs if lines are not properly purged after brazing during the initial installation. While your installation warranty is only three years, Service Champions offers a lifetime warranty on their work. Had this system been installed correctly or backed by a similar guarantee, I would not have incurred these significant costs to diagnose an installation-related issue

Frequently Asked Questions About Qualtech Heating & Cooling
Are all air filters the same?
No, there are a variety of sizes and types available and it is important to select the right size for your system. You should also look at the filter's rating. A high rating removes more particles from the air, but some can restrict airflow.
Once you have the right filter, make sure to change it regularly.
Do I need to schedule regular maintenance?
Yes, regular maintenance is essential to keeping your HVAC equipment running all year long. Routine maintenance helps prevent breakdown, ensures reliable performance, optimizes energy efficiency and maximizes your equipment's lifespan.
How can I eliminate odors in my home?
Odors in your home can have a variety of sources, including air ducts. Dirt, dust, mold and other debris in your ducts can create a stale, musty odor in the air.
Air Scrubbers can help improve your indoor pet, cooking odors and more!
How can I know if my indoor air is dangerous?
If you've noticed that your allergy or respiratory symptoms go away when you're out of the house, then return when you're back home, this can be an indicator of an indoor air quality issue.
Indoor air quality can be contaminated by:
- Dust
- Humidity levels that are too high or low
- Miscellaneous pollutants
- Mold or mildew
- New carpeting, paint or furniture
- Pet dander
- Smoking
- The presence of chemicals
How often should I change my air filter?
It varies, depending on the manufacturer's specifications. Usually, it is recommended that the filter is changed monthly, especially during heavy use seasons.
Are noises a common issue with HVAC units?
Noises can be a signal that something is wrong with your system. If you hear thumping, squealing, banging, rattling, rumbling, hissing, or frequent clicking, contact us right away.
What are the causes of poor indoor air quality?
Poor air quality can be attributed to contaminants such as particles in the air or chemicals. The issue is made worse thanks to inadequate ventilation, leaky ducts or activities such as smoking in the house.
What is a zoning system?
A zoning system has one HVAC system designed to provide heating and cooling to different zones of the house. Dampers are installed in the duct system to redirect air to the specific areas it is needed. Separate thermostats are used to control the temperature in each zone as well.
What causes ductwork to pop?
Popping noises can be caused by movement in the ducts when airflow causes a sudden temperature change. This can be a sign that your duct system is undersized for your home.
An undersized duct system may also cause issues with leaky ducts and reduced airflow. This can cause mold growth and decreased indoor air quality.
Why is my air conditioner freezing?
This can be attributed to insufficient air flow, dirty evaporator coils, low refrigerant level, motor malfunction, or blocked vents and registers, among other causes.
Are all air filters the same?
No, there are various sizes and types of air filters; it's important to choose the right size and rating for your system. Higher-rated filters remove more particles but may restrict airflow. Change filters regularly.
Do I need to schedule regular HVAC maintenance?
Yes, regular maintenance prevents breakdowns, ensures reliable performance, optimizes energy efficiency, and extends your equipment's lifespan.
How can I eliminate odors in my home?
Odors can stem from dirt, dust, mold, or debris in air ducts. Installing Air Scrubbers can help reduce pet, cooking, and other odors.
How do I know if my indoor air quality is hazardous?
If allergy or respiratory symptoms lessen when away from home and return indoors, poor indoor air may be the cause. Contaminants include dust, humidity issues, mold, chemicals, pet dander, smoking, and new furnishings.
What are the common causes of poor indoor air quality?
Contaminants like particles, chemicals, inadequate ventilation, leaky ducts, and indoor activities such as smoking can degrade air quality.
Why is regular air filter replacement important, and how often should I do it?
Changing air filters monthly, especially during heavy usage, ensures optimal system performance and air quality, though frequency may vary by manufacturer.
