These guys are incredible! They did a difficult welding and re-painting job on our rusted outdoor metal railing, quickly and beautifully - and at a very reasonable price. It looks just like new. To top it off, they came back the next day with paint to touch up a couple of very slight imperfections they saw (which I hadn't even noticed). We will use them again for all welding and metal-painting needs!

I got some powder coating done here, for some quick parts. The prices were a lot better than other local shops especially for hobbyists who are just doing low quantity parts. The service was also really quick, and the staff was helpful through the whole process.

Very helpful folks here. They've helped me with two projects so far and I've been very happy with them.
Frequently Asked Questions About Noel Welding Center
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a sophisticated finishing technique that applies decorative and protective coatings to various materials and products across industrial and consumer applications. The process utilizes a specialized powder composed of finely ground pigment and resin particles, which is electrostatically sprayed onto the surface being treated. These charged particles bond to the electrically grounded substrate and are then heat-cured in an oven, where they melt and fuse together to form a smooth, uniform coating. The final product delivers a durable, high-quality finish with excellent aesthetic appeal.
Why is powder coating better than painting?
Powder coating offers multiple performance advantages over traditional liquid spray paint. The finished dry film thickness of powder coating is typically 4 to 10 times greater than conventional paint, providing enhanced surface protection. The chemical properties of cured powder coating create a harder surface that delivers superior resistance to scratches, chips, and abrasions. Additionally, powder coating demonstrates excellent adhesion and flexibility, allowing coated materials to bend without the finish cracking or peeling. When combined with proper surface pretreatment and quality powder selection, powder coating delivers substantially better corrosion resistance and extended service life compared to standard spray paint, especially in challenging outdoor conditions.
What are powder coating advantages?
Powder coating technology produces finishes that are uniform, durable, and visually appealing across all application types. Every powder coating formulation offers decorative appeal and protective qualities. Specialized powder coating options are available to address specific performance requirements, including enhanced protection against ultraviolet exposure, corrosion, abrasion, and chemical contact. Certain formulations meet FDA standards for direct food contact applications.
Can stainless steel be powder coated?
Yes, stainless steel can be powder coated.
How long does powder coating last?
The service life of powder coated steel varies based on several factors, including the specific coating formulation, environmental exposure, and ongoing maintenance. Components used indoors generally maintain their finish for 15 to 20 years. Outdoor applications exposed to weather elements and UV radiation typically last 5 to 10 years before maintenance or recoating becomes necessary.
What is the cost of powder coating?
Powder coating costs depend on several variables, including the specific powder coating material selected, the condition and size of the part, and the quantity being processed.
How is powder coating applied?
The application process typically involves using an electrostatic spray gun within a dedicated powder coating booth. After application, parts are placed in a curing oven and heated to 400F for 10 to 20 minutes, with exact timing based on specific requirements.
What are the steps required to achieve a powder coated finish?
The powder coating process begins with surface preparation through either steam washing or sandblasting. Once the part is properly cleaned, the selected powder coating is applied and the part is cured in an oven at 400F to complete the finishing process.
What is the lead time to powder coat an item?
Lead times are determined by the quantity of items, the specific color requested, and our current production schedule.
Can you custom make a powder coat color?
Yes, custom powder coating colors can be formulated with a minimum order quantity required.
