Friends of ours on our street recommended this company to us when they started to have their kitchen remodeled. We called them twice to get an estimate to do a full remodel of our kitchen, but we are still waiting on a call back over 6 weeks later. I spoke to the woman who answered, and twice she said someone would get back to us initially on the Monday. but we never heard back, so, I called them back and was told the owner was now on vacation but he'd get back to us when he returned. I'm assuming he's still away as we still haven't heard back. My husband spoke to our ffriends in the week and they are not impressed with them and upon reading the review above, it looks like we dodged a bullet there.

I hired MW Mason Construction to modify a cabinet for a farmhouse sink. What should have been a straightforward job turned into months of frustration. His team took my cabinet doors to their shop and did not return them for the entire duration of the painting work. When I asked in advance whether my painters coming would be a problem, I was told no — but the doors came back bare and unpainted after my entire kitchen had already been painted. When I raised the issue and offered two reasonable solutions, both were refused without discussion.
Matt never provided a written contract despite California law requiring one for jobs over $500. His CSLB license number also does not appear anywhere on his estimate or invoice, which is a separate violation of California law requiring licensed contractors to display their license number on all business documents. When I attempted to resolve the $250 dispute directly — multiple times, in writing — he filed a small claims lawsuit instead. I live in Northridge. The case was filed in Ventura County. I had to arrange childcare, drive to Oxnard, and spend an entire day in court over a dispute that could have been resolved with one phone call he never made.
The case settled in mediation. Between the additional painting cost, the gas, the childcare, and the day lost, I spent far more resolving this than the $250 I was disputing in the first place.
If you hire this contractor: get a written contract, get everything in writing, make sure his license number appears on all documents, and get a clear timeline for return of any materials they take off site. I learned all of this the hard way.

Matt and team delivered! They took three dim, lifeless bathrooms and turned them into bright, modern, showrooms. The coordination and scheduling of work was handled perfectly by Maureen and Matt was always there for Q&A as needed. This is the bright light among all contractor and remodel frustrations. Call him!

I've used MW Mason now for 3 different projects over the past 3 years. Each time, they have gone above and beyond. On my first project, I did a rift white oak cabinet replacement in my kitchen and when some of the grain in the molding seemed slightly off (not their fault as that is the way wood is), they happily found similar grained molding and replaced the molding for me at no cost to make sure it was right. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Matt and his team were awesome! I’ve used them on both residential and commercial locations. Always professional and make sure all of my needs are taken care of. Highly recommended!
