    Eddie Nunez from Holders Air Conditioning & Heating provided outstanding service today. He thoroughly checked out the system, quickly diagnosed the issue, and took care of it. If you are looking for an old fashioned company that stands behind their work, give Holder's a call. Eddie sent a text when he was on his way to the appointment. He was on time and very professional. Holders always provides excellent service from highly qualified technicians. I would highly recommend Holders to take care of all of your air conditioning needs. They also offer air duct cleaning, if you are having indoor allergies. Check out their website if you are looking to replace your units. They offer veteran discounts and have competitive prices to fit your budget. Thank you for providing outstanding service again.

    Jorge Garrido Arzola came out to look at our unit for a basic maintenance checkup. He was prompt, courteous, and informative. Calling ahead to see if he could come earlier than scheduled due to a cancellation from a previous client. Took detailed photos of the unit and thoroughly explained each test that was ran and how he comes to the conclusion that the numbers are within range. Afterwards, I received a follow up email with photos and information that was discussed. I did not have anything cleaned or repaired today but I now have an idea of the cost of some basic maintenance that I should do in the near future to ensure our units longevity. I pay for a premium membership so it was no cost for this maintenance checkup.

    Jorge was very kind and respectful. His work was clean and efficient. My only real issue was that he was using a power drill to open and close the air vent latches, which only required a half-turn of a screwdriver. I told him on the first screw, then he started doing it on the second one. I told him to stop because he was going to strip the screw, which is ultimately almost stripped. There were some other issues that came up later, but I am told that he was just off training and this would be used as an educational opportunity for him. I feel this was dealt with thoroughly and professionally once the issues were found. I will definitely still use this company again due to their wanting me to be ultimately happy with my service.

    I am overly impressed with the professionalism and the dedication to excellence Holders exudes. From the initial call to Laci, whose customers care is beyond measure, to the repair process with AJ I was completely satisfied and very thankful I chose to contact Holders. Laci was capable of setting me an appointment to my surprise on the same day I called. I was sent text updates verifying my appointment and arrival time of my service tech. They also sent picture verification of my service tech prior to his arrival so I was sure who would be coming to my door. My service tech AJ or Angel showed up on time and lived up to his name. He was professionally dressed, and had a smile on his face that made me feel comfortable with him as soon as I opened the door. He was able to determine the problem immediately and got to work. Before I knew it my house was once again a home, instead of the sauna it had become. Thank you Holders, my children slept with blankets on last night in a cold room home and that means the world to their father especially in this Bakersfield heat. I recommend Holders to everyone that’s seeking a company that goes above and beyond, is professional, knowledgeable, and has the ability to get you out of the heat faster then you would ever expect.

    HOLDERS AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING Maintenance and Repair Service Invoice # 126050196 As of writing this review I am 74 years old. When I purchased my house new in 2022, it came with a Lennox AC unit model no. ML14XC1-036 and gas furnace model no. EL195UH060NE36B that had been installed by Holders. They have both worked flawlessly for four years. During that time the equipment had not had any inspections or preventative maintenance. However, I have changed the return air filters every six months without exception. However, I was concerned about cleanliness of the outdoor AC coil and gas furnace condition and filters. Owing to the fact that Holders had installed the units, I was inclined to request maintenance service from them first on 6/8/2026. They gave me an appointment the same day between 4 PM and 8 PM. Later, one of their service engineers, Dallas Bonham, phoned me at 1:32 PM and told me he could come to see us in around 15 minutes. I consented. Dallas arrived at our residence at 1:48:50 PM. He first accessed the attic and inspected the furnace. He said the furnaces filters did not need replacements. He then went outside to inspect the AC unit. After some testing, Dallas said the capacitor was weak and he recommended replacement as continued use could result in failure of the AC unit. He also recommended that an electrical surge protector be installed at the service disconnect box. He said that electrical outages and sudden restorations of power could further stress the AC unit resulting in premature failure. These recommendations were reasonable to me but I was shocked at the verbally-quoted cost estimates totaling $934.62. Dallas said he would waive the $125 trip charge. I agreed to the performance of the repairs. He completed his work and my wife paid him via his phone despite not having a written estimate or invoice. Dallas did send us an invoice attached to an email with a timestamp at 12:45 PM. Also, we were not aware that he charged our credit card two times ($934.62 and $125.00). He left my house at 2:50:44 PM. Still suffering from “sticker shock”, the following day I researched the parts and labor required for the repairs. The Lennox capacitor part no. 100335-12 is available on Amazon for $20.55 before tax. The Intermatic surge protector part no. AG3000 is available on Amazon for $73.47 before tax. I googled the labor rate for a labor rate for an HVAC technician in Bakersfield. Google replied $110 to $150 per hour. Though Dallas was onsite for 1 hour 1 minute and 54 seconds, I am allowing one hour for the installation of each part (two ho urs). So I estimate parts and labor to be $101.78 (including 8.25% sales tax) and $300.00, respectively. Total $401.78. I was invoiced $375.04 for the capacitor installed and $559.58 for the surge protector installed. And I was stilled charged the $125 trip fee. So all told I paid $1,059.62 for what I reasonably estimated at $401.78. I telephoned and spoke to Kayla at Holders on Tuesday 6/9/26 at 1:30 PM. I explained all the above concerns. I also said the AC unit was still under the 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. She explained that parts price discrepancy was due to the fact that they don’t get their parts from Amazon and because of the procurement and having the parts available when needed warranted the 5 to 11 times markup. Kayla said she needed to verify the warranty status of the capacitor and would phone me with the status. At 4:21 PM Kayla called and stated that the capacitor should be covered under warranty and they would refund and adjustment. On the other hand, she said the $125 trip charge was still applicable because when I requested service online I requested preventative maintenance, not repair service. Also, regarding the adjustment, Kayla said she would need to discuss it with the service manager on Wednesday. As of 2:00 PM Friday I have not heard back from her. As I wrote in another review was very satisfied with the prompt and excellent service. I just feel stupid and victimized by the expense!
