I want to thank Larson for working with me. I had unusual circumstances with the AC not working in my apartment. Larson had the best responsiveness and the best customer service when I called and needed to set up an appointment. And the Technician, Saul, he was great. Very patient, very clear in his communication. He walked me through everything. Very professional. Honestly, after this customer experience with them, I couldn't recommend Larson AC more. Thank you to the team there.

We had an AC company that we really liked, but their business sold and ratings tanked with the new owner along with higher prices. We inquired with another company advertising military friendliness for routine maintenance. Scammers. They will never return to our house again. So recently, we thought we were smelling fumes from our AC and possibly a noise. We made an appointment online (which was super easy) with Larson AC because of their 5-Star rating, and Kyle Reynolds was the technician. He checked our unit and went over what things he noticed and how to proceed with those things. He told us some things we already knew, and interestingly enough didn't bring up anything the scammers were suggesting we replace for almost 2k. We really appreciated the way Kyle and Larson AC did business and because of that, we will call them back for maintenance and/or repairs, if needed. We felt he was honest with us, and that is very appreciated. Thank you, Kyle!

I have used Larson Air for awhile. They installed a new AC at my old residence when I first moved here, and I recently had them install a new AC at my current home to replace the 12.5 year old one that was struggling and beginning to fail on us just as it is starting to get warm. I had a positive experience similar to the past.
Saul, the technician who came out to service/check our old unit was helpful and the cost to repair the old unit just didn't make sense given the age and condition.
Ernesto the lead installer and his team did a good job removing the old and installing the new unit. They were polite, generally cleaned up, and the installation looks good and the unit is functioning well.
I'll continue to use them for maintenance as they do good work at what feels like a fair price. Thanks!

My AC went down on Sun 5/10/26 and I needed immediate service, so for the first time, found myself canvassing different AC companies to help me. The first company I tried came on Monday 5/11/26 and explained that my 4 ton Trane unit was 22 years old and with compressors going down, would need complete replacement. Unfortunately, after a couple of hours looking at options, they couldn’t meet my scheduling needs, so on Tuesday 5/12/26, I canvassed some more, this time choosing Larson AC because of their 5 star rating and over 600 reviews (many more than other 5-star companies). The Project Manager, Drew Werner, came to my house that evening, did a full, comprehensive assessment (including measuring all windows) and took time to explain the different options. He was knowledgeable, professional, and thorough in answering all my questions. Before he left my house, he made phone calls (I believe it was to the owners) and not only confirmed he could meet my scheduling needs, but could also work with me on my specific financing arrangements. Within 12 hours (Wednesday 5/13/26, 8:30am) , the installers (Charlie and Josh) were pulling up with the new HVAC system. These guys were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and thorough, often explaining what they were doing. Even though it was a hot day, they had a great attitude and were always smiling. Six hours later, they had everything done, did a walk through of everything they did, showed me how to use the new thermostat controller, and patiently answered all of my questions. In my line of work, I manage suppliers, so I feel I have strong experience in selecting who I use. The Larson AC team proved to me that choosing them for my personal needs was the correct decision, as I’m very happy with my new system, and hope my review will help others decide who to try out and go with.

I contacted Larson Air after much research (Registrar, BBB etc) looking for a quality AC company. AC Units (4T & 2.5T) are 4 years old. Not maintained well previous 3 years as a rental home. 2.5T was having difficulty starting.
Damien, the technician, showed up on time and ready to work. I explained the situation and requested a thorough inspection. Damien took a bit over an hour to thoroughly go through both systems. Damien collected amp draws, in rush current, pressures etc. He had video and pictures. Unfortunately the system was installed by Chaz Roberts (new home buyer beware). Chaz used aluminum freon lines (to save money, notorious for leaks) that they braised/sweated to the copper freon lines running to the compressor. Damien took the time to discuss and thoroughly explain his findings. We discussed what items needed to be addressed and various ways to address the issues based on budget and future plans with the property. Long story short, I opted to have Damien perform standard service, change the starter cap on the 2.5T unit and install a 4-stage "soft start" to bring down the max in-rush current and overall operational/running current. This was the less expensive way to hopefully extend the life of the unit having trouble and allow it to run a bit more efficiently. I also received an accurate (measured the copper run and included a bill of materials based on current copper prices) quote to run the proper size copper freon lines for both units. Lastly, I received some basic quotes for new units from middle the road to Trane. I feel I received enough proper information to know how to plan for the future of these AC units.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the service and professionalism that Damien provided. I like that Larson Air allows me to note Damien as a "preferred technician" on my account so I can have the same tech, familiar with the system, return to do all seasonal maintenance. I would definitely recommend Larson Air Conditioning to others.
Frequently Asked Questions About Larson Air Conditioning
How does an air conditioner work?
An air conditioner cools your Arizona home by removing heat from the indoor air and transferring it outside. It does this through a cycle of compression and expansion of a refrigerant, which absorbs heat from indoor air and releases it outside, resulting in cooler air circulating indoors.
What's the importance of cleaning the condenser coil?
Cleaning the condenser coil is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of your AC system. A dirty coil can restrict heat transfer, causing your AC to work harder and consume more energy. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and lower energy bills.
What's the importance of cleaning the evaporator coil?
Cleaning the evaporator coil helps maintain indoor air quality and cooling efficiency. A dirty coil can reduce cooling capacity, increase energy consumption, and even lead to poor indoor air quality due to reduced moisture removal.
Why is a condensate flush needed?
A condensate flush prevents clogs in the drain line, which can cause water damage and mold growth. It's essential for maintaining the proper functioning of your AC system and avoiding costly repairs.
How often should I schedule maintenance for my HVAC system?
In Scottsdale, Arizona, it's recommended to schedule maintenance for your HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system twice per year. Regular maintenance helps ensure the efficiency and reliability of your system, extending its lifespan and preventing potential breakdowns, especially when you need it most.
Typically, homeowners choose to have HVAC maintenance performed in the spring or early summer before the peak cooling season begins. However, scheduling maintenance during the fall is also advisable for those who use heating during the winter months. Regular maintenance includes tasks such as cleaning, tuning, checking for leaks, and ensuring proper airflow. It's a cost-effective way to keep your HVAC system running smoothly and efficiently while avoiding costly repairs down the road.
Keep in mind that some HVAC companies offer maintenance plans that provide scheduled service reminders and additional benefits, such as priority service and discounts on repairs. These plans can help you stay on top of your HVAC system's maintenance needs.
I don't use my heater, does it really need maintenance in Fall?
Yes, it's essential to perform maintenance in the fall, even if you don't use your heater frequently. This ensures that both heating and cooling components are in good shape and, most importantly, in safe operational condition. Regular maintenance helps prevent issues such as carbon monoxide leaks and natural gas leaks, ensuring your HVAC system is ready when needed and avoiding potential problems during the winter months.
How often should an air filter be replaced?
Air filters should typically be replaced in Arizona homes every 30-60 days depending on factors like filter type and household conditions. A clean filter improves indoor air quality and helps your AC system run efficiently.
What is the life expectancy of an AC system?
The life expectancy of an AC system in the Arizona desert climate is around 12-15 years with proper maintenance. Factors such as maintenance, usage, and climate can influence its longevity.
Why do I need my ducts sealed?
Sealing ducts prevents air leaks, ensuring that conditioned air reaches its intended destination efficiently. This helps improve indoor comfort, energy efficiency, and reduces energy bills. Sealed ducts also reduces the amount of dust that gets pulled into the duct system and distributed throughout the home.
What is the purpose of insulation?
Insulation is crucial for regulating indoor temperature. In Scottsdale's hot climate, proper insulation helps keep your home cooler in summer and reduces energy consumption, leading to lower cooling costs.
How much does a service call fee for HVAC repair cost?
In Scottsdale, Arizona, the cost of a service call fee for HVAC repair typically ranges from $79 to $149. This fee covers the technician's travel to your home or business and the diagnostic assessment of your HVAC system. It's important to note that some companies may advertise a "free" service call fee with repairs, or "waived" with approved repair but it's essential to understand that the cost may be incorporated into the repair charges.
The service call fee can vary based on factors such as whether it's during regular hours, after-hours, or on holidays. Additionally, for more complex equipment or intricate problems that require advanced diagnostics, there may be additional costs associated with the diagnostic work.
