  Yesterday I mistakenly gave A1 a five star review and here is why. My door springs broke last Saturday and called A1 to come out same day, which they did and technician came and said my springs are definitely broke and quoted me 2,000 to replace the spring with their lifetime spring..parts and labor ...at the time I thought it was a good price boy was I wrong. My dad had A1 garage come out today to do a tune up and me and my dad have the exact same door and size and they quoted my dad 2000 too, but when he said I'll think about it the boss on the phone named Jed said they can do it from 1700 just unbelievable they tried to cheat my dad. Called another garage door company in Vistancia and holy cow was I impressed when they came to my dad's house. I told them I used A1 garage and they laughed and said their springs are horrible which is true. I held in my hand A1's spring compared to the other company's spring and total night and day the other garbage door company's by far is thicker ...bigger and heavier made in the USA and I got quoted from another company 1000 to install their better spring. I was told that A1 garage door technicians have to sell 10 to 15 thousand dollars in sales every day and the technicians get a commission of that amount which I did not know. And that's exactly what happened to my dad and me .. .completely got up selled. I got cheated out of 1000 dollars and got lower quality springs. Just sad that companies like A1 take advantage of people and hope people don't get other quotes. Hope A1 does the right thing and refund me for what I overpaid for but I'm not holding my breath. If they don't I'll be filing a BBB complaint this week.

  Darren was very thorough, polite and informative. I've been in customer service and sales more than 50 years and I'm a pro. He represents your brand very well. Darren is a pro and I hope the company will acknowledge his skills, personality, efficiency and how highly he speaks of the owner. Its very hard to find employees of his skill level. Give that man a raise! I would.

  I think $1400 for a chain driven garage door opener is steep but the installation was fast and everything works. I got the Liftmaster 2220L which lists for $289.00 with install came to $1203.10, a standard trip charge of $59.00 which is reasonable since it is a decent drive, a tune up adjustment of my other garage door for $81.37 and shop fees of $67.16. Good news is he had it done very cleanly in an hour and a half so very speedy service. Out the door total was $1410.64 which is about three times what I paid for my last garage door opener but that was 6 years ago using another company. This time it did come with a 29 point safety inspection as well. Good experience, just in shock as to the cost.

  If I could give more than5 stars I would. Joshua is a superb ambassador for A-1 Garage Door and fully embodies the message the owner expounds in his ads. I believe by way Joshua was professional, knowlegeable and could handle providing me a negative message (i was not expecting the large expediture today) he explained the reasons and made my decision more than palatable. Through Joshua, I know Tommy walks the walks not just the talk. Keep hiring people like Joshua.

  Samuel Ortega did an incredible job! He showed up as promised, took a look at my garage door, and I'm less then three minutes he knew exactly what the problem was, and the best, and most inexpensive way to fix it. When I told him I was a renter, and the door broke, because the power was out and I manually lifted it, He assured me that wasn't the reason for the doors failure and informed me that the landlord would have to be the one to okay the work. He waited until the property manager could arrive on scene, and while waiting he helped me clean because I was moving out. Then when the property manager arrived on scene he explained the situation to him making sure he understood it wasn't my fault that it happened. He told him what causes failures of this nature, and the property manager paid for the repairs. This was a difficult move with a lot of things going wrong, but on this day, with this issue, Samuel turned everything around and earned A1 Garage Door Service a customer for life!
