  Called and made an appointment for a new opener. The tech arrived and advised his cheapest option was over $1,500. Stupidly, I agreed. He then proceeds to tell me I need a new garage door as well and all attaching equipment. The total came to be $8,000! After installation, the tech told me the new door was warped and would need replacing. I had another door installed, still warped. Every tech after that, of which there were plenty, claimed the warping was normal. We are now 2 months after first contact with A1 and my garage door is still not correct. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Their technicians are very unscrupulous in their sales tactics and in addition, their customer service could use a lot of work. Buyer beware!

  Stay away from this company. If I could I wouldn’t give any stars. I am left with a “smart” opener with a defective camera that worked for 1 day. After many promises to make things right, I am not having my calls returned either by the technician or the Corporate managers in Phoenix. After consulting with other garage door companies, it seems they charged me more than double for the product. I am now pursuing a solution /refund through The Better Business Bureau, the Idaho Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection and my credit card company. Do your research before hiring, buyer beware!

  I called this company to schedule garage door service as the spring on my garage door broke. When the representative answered it was clear this company outsources their appointment scheduling. The person was insistanting on scheduling an appointment. I did not schedule an appointment and hung up. Two weeks later a technician shows up at my door. Apparently the phone agent scheduled an appointment anyway. My guess is to get the scheduling bonus. I feel bad for the technician but will not use this company strictly because of their scheduling practices.

  Worst experience with a contractor I’ve ever had in my life. If you ever have them out I'd call a second company for another quote before you agree to anything with them. Paid $2,828.77 on 8/16/26 for a full torsion system rebuild: two 80,000-cycle springs, cables, safety drums, center bearings, end bearing plates, center plate, spring pad, and the operator reinforcement bracket. The door still does not open correctly…. A1 did come back out and replace the rollers at no charge, and I'll give them credit for that. The door still opens wrong. The technician then told me my opener motor is bad. So after replacing essentially every mechanical component of the door, the remaining explanation was the one part they hadn't sold me yet. Then I tried to reach them. My complaint email bounced to the email address they gave me on their invoice. I sent it to a second A1 address and got no response. Someone who said she was with A1 corporate called to ask about my experience and said she would reach out to the branch. Nobody ever followed up.

  A1 Garage came out to service my garage door issue and Darren was the technician that came out. Let’s just say Darren is the man! From the get go, I knew Darren was going to provide a positive experience. He fixed my garage door within 1 hour and a half but more importantly he was really awesome to converse with. It was like talking to a family member that I haven’t seen in a while. He’s professional and really experienced in this field. He came out with a trainee that I unfortunately cannot remember the name off (I’m really sorry if the trainee is reading this review because i forgot your name) but he also deserves the recognition because he was also really professional and I believe he has a lot to offer this company and he will be an awesome technician once he finishes his training. The price was also really good! My overall experience with A1 Garage was great and I definitely recommend them if you are having garage door issues.
