I had a great experience with this garage door repair service. Chris Martinez was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything in a down-to-earth way that was easy to understand. He walked me through the intricacies of the repair, answered all of my questions, and presented several service options without any pressure.
On top of doing excellent work, Chris was personable and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience even better. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is both skilled and genuinely cares about helping you make the best decision. I highly recommend Chris Martinez and this company for any garage door repair or maintenance needs.

Double spring replacement, and it’s my mistake that I should have gotten second opinions, but it was about 60% more than what it should have competitively cost with parts/labor. 1,400 for two springs and two of the cables on the sides replaced. Could have nearly gotten a new door at those prices, but lesson learned. A1 unfortunately will not be my first call for service going forward.
Reason for further star reductions was that the tech left a mess. I would assume cleanup is first in mind for a company servicing a residential property, but unfortunately the tech left the old bolts out on my driveway and that left me having to track down the homes for and make sure they truly were ‘extra’. Also the broken cable was left in the middle of the garage, take it away!
Disappointed with my service and will unfortunately not be a repeat customer.
I was really impressed with how quickly A1 responded to my garage door repair request over the July 4th weekend. From the time I submitted the online service request to the garage door technician, Andrew, arriving at my house, it was probably less than 25 minutes, which was excellent for a holiday weekend!
Andrew, was professional, courteous, and friendly throughout the visit. Once he began the actual repair, he was able to get my garage door back on the ground in less than 10 minutes, which I appreciated.
That said, much of the two-hour service call felt more like a sales appointment than a garage door repair visit. I explained that my only priority that day was getting the garage door repaired, but I was still asked to look up replacement garage doors from two of their suppliers so he could provide a quote for replacing both of my doors. He also measured both garage doors and sent the information to their design team.
Before completing the repair, I was given a written quote that included the cost of the repair along with membership in their Worry Free Club, which added about $150. Once I declined the membership, the total bill was essentially back to the original repair price, just without the membership included.
Overall, I appreciated the fast response, the friendly and professional technician, and the quick actual repair, especially on a holiday weekend. The final charge of about $300 for the service call and repair felt fair given the circumstances. However, I would have preferred the visit to focus more on the repair I requested rather than on selling new garage doors and a membership plan. For that reason, I feel 3 stars is fair.
Received a coupon in the mail for A1 and a $29 garage door tune up. As a homeowner, I know it’s important to do maintenance as much as it is when things break. Scheduled this appointment within days and on the day the appointment, Alex arrived early in the arrival window and communicated with me when he’d get here. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and explained things in a way I could understand (obviously I’m not a garage door expert). My favorite is that he was not pushy on sales at all. He told me about services and I was the one who asked for them. I’m so tired of companies that offer a tune up or inspection only to high pressure sales on you and Alex and A1 didn’t do that to me. I greatly appreciate the service, will recommend them to friends and neighbors, and use again when needed!!

I was a previous customer and initially scheduled an appointment with this company. After comparing prices, I found another reputable company that offered the same service at a more reasonable cost, so I canceled my appointment.
When someone from the company called to ask why I canceled, I explained my reason honestly. Instead of responding professionally, I was told, "When it breaks, don't call us because we won't come out." I was surprised and disappointed by that response.
As a business, it's understandable to be disappointed when a customer chooses another provider, but treating a customer this way is unprofessional. Customers have every right to compare prices and make the decision that best fits their budget. No one should be made to feel unwelcome for doing their due diligence.
That single comment changed my opinion of the company. I would have considered using them again in the future for service or repairs, but after this interaction, I won't be returning or recommending them to others. Professionalism matters just as much as the quality of the work.
