I chose The Floor Store for both flooring and countertop projects because of the positive reputation they have built in the Valley. Unfortunately, my experience did not match that reputation.
The projects themselves had issues, but the bigger problem was the communication, lack of follow-through, and lack of accountability when those issues came up.
To be clear, I understand that mistakes happen. Materials can be delayed. Defects can occur. Schedules can change. That is part of any home improvement project. What matters is how a company communicates, takes ownership, and helps the customer through those issues. That is where The Floor Store fell short in my experience.
My carpet project started with a material shortage that left part of the installation unfinished while more carpet had to be ordered. That shortage also appears to have contributed to seams being placed in areas where they may have been avoidable if enough material had been ordered correctly from the beginning.
The countertop project then brought a separate set of problems when a defect was identified and a replacement became necessary. Again, issues happen. But throughout both projects, I repeatedly had to chase down updates, ask for status information, and coordinate details that I believe should have been proactively handled by the company.
The most frustrating part was the breakdown in communication between scheduling, installers, contractors, and management. Follow-ups that were promised did not happen. Schedules changed without proper notice. At several points, I felt like I was doing the work of the project coordinator just to keep things moving.
What concerns me most is what happened after the projects were completed. At management’s request, I took the time to provide a detailed written summary of my experience and concerns. I sent that on July 25. Weeks went by with no acknowledgment or response. I followed up again on August 11 and still received no meaningful communication. I also attempted to escalate the issue again before posting this review.
That lack of response reinforced the exact concerns I had already raised about communication, follow-through, and accountability.
I spent more than $20,000 with this company and expected a much higher level of customer service and project management. While the final products may be acceptable, the process to get there was unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing.
At this point, I am posting this review because all private attempts to resolve or even discuss the matter have gone unanswered. I was not looking for excuses or an argument. I was looking for acknowledgment, accountability, and an honest conversation about what went wrong.
Ignoring a customer after more than $20,000 in business is not acceptable.
If ownership or senior management genuinely cares about their customers, their reviews, and the reputation of this business, I would encourage them to contact me immediately. I would still prefer to resolve this directly and fairly, but that requires someone from The Floor Store to actually respond.
Future customers should know that when things go wrong, communication and follow-through matter. In my case, that is where The Floor Store failed.
I hope management chooses to take this seriously, because this experience has completely changed the way I view a company I originally trusted.

The Floor Store has a great showroom that is clean and organized, Greg was super knowledgeable and very helpful. This place is great compared to big box stores. Whether you have a small diy project around the house, or need full floor replacement, Greg and The Floor Store should be your first stop. 12/10 recommend!

My husband and I chose the Floor Store to manage our home flooring project because of the incredible reviews and our experience speaking with Warren, who was exceedingly helpful and knowledgable with his recommendations. He walked us through much of the process and timeline, and we approved a quote. Beyond that point, however, we experienced several challenges with coordinating and the quality of work. The hard floor contractors were professional and did a splendid job on much of the house, but there were a few spots they had to redo at our request due to inadequate floor prep (there were uneven spots in the subfloor that needed extra attention). The carpet contractor who came after seemed to have done a rush job on the baseboards in the areas he worked on, and we ultimately had to have both him and the hard floor guys redo several spots where the connections were uneven or he left large gaps between the baseboards and carpet. Scheduling all of this was fairly painful, as the project manager Warren connected us with was less attentive at times and seemed to lose details of our previous conversations. We eventually used half of extra planks we purchased to do touch ups, and the process was drawn out longer than we would have liked. I will say that throughout the project, the Floor Store and its contractors were all very accommodating and willing to work with us on all of our issues, so no complaints there. The end result was by no means perfect, but we're pretty happy with it. I am just surprised that we didn't have a smoother experience and a higher quality final product based on what we read about them.
