Scott equipment….. where should I start? We’ve spent Thousands of dollars with Randy and Lance and even before they came along. I had them install a new undercarriage on my 1650M Case dozer. After loading it and taking it to the woods it was scrubbing the tops of pin bosses on the rails. I brought my dozer back to Lance. Upon examining the rails he tells me I need new equalizer bar bushings. He claims the center bushing is bad and also the outer bushings are showing signs of wear. He tells me that the only way to get the center bushings out is to pull the engine. Thinking he’s trust worthy he tells me it’ll cost between $12,000-$15,000 to do this.
I decided to check around and see what other options I had…. This takes my dozer to Monroe, Louisiana . A small shop there that does the track work for Scott Equipment Monroe store. Robert Williams is his name. After examining my dozer Robert tells me there’s absolutely no reason to pull the engine to remove the equalizer bar for new bushings. He also tells me there’s less than a 16th of an inch play in one of the outer bushings. Farther more he tells me there’s nothing wrong with the other two bushings and that they are tight. After taking my dozer back apart he tells me that the idler rails should have been replaced by Scott Equipment but was not. He removed them and had a local machine re build/surface them. My truck and dozer were both in Monroe 3 weeks.
A total sham on Lances part at Scott Equipment in Springdale.
I was charged 2600.00 by Robert. A far cry from the 12-15K I was initially told.
After removing the tracks and all the rollers that only had 2600 hrs on them
I told Lance I wanted to keep my old parts. I intended to make a drag from my old tracks and keep the older rollers for spares if needed in the future. Lance told me he’d do that. After I picked up the dozer, I tried at several occasions to get back over with my truck and lowboy but was trying to haul logs and hauling them 2.5 hrs away was finding the truck tied up a lot. Lance sent a text and told me I needed to get them and I told him I hadn’t forgotten them and would get them ASAP. Following that my truck and lowboy was tied up in Monroe LA. Again he called or texted and asked me to get them. I assured him I would get them picked up. 3 or 4 weeks go by and I needed parts from there… I saw Randy and Lance both at the store and not a word was uttered to me about the tracks. A week goes by and I sent my driver with truck and trailer to pickup the old parts. In the mean time Lance had decided (without telling me of his intention) to throw the stuff in the steel dumpster.
Once my brother in law asked him about picking them up he acted like he was an idiot for even showing up. The yard there in Springdale has plenty of area that’s not being used. They were bundled up and on pallets. And not taking up much room. Lance didn’t breathe a word to me about trying them away. No 30 days notice no tomorrow notice…nothing. I would have gladly paid a storage fee. No One from that store has even as much as offered any kind of reimbursement for the scrap iron. Looking back I’m thinking of many times I’ve been over charged for service.

I have been working with Colin for five days. I have asked him over and over about how much to rent a dozer, as well as how much for delivery round-trip. He’s been nothing but ambiguous with price. We were just about ready to pull the trigger on Friday for an on Friday for a Monday delivery when he added on a hauling in and hauling out fee as well as a couple of other fees, other than tax. So instead of $1200 which was what we started out with, it was ending up at $1900. That is highly unprofessional. I will definitely take my business elsewhere.
