Long review. Had a generator that the weekly exerciser went out on in October of 2025. I called their main number and she said they would send the technician for my area out to look at. My facility has used ESSE for years servicing this generator. The technician finally showed up 3 weeks later and confirmed the exerciser was bad but didn’t have one with him and would have to order one. This was the middle of November. A week and a half before Christmas I called the main office and asked when they thought someone would be back out to replace the part and that I needed to get a 4 hour load bank test done. She asked me to hang on and she asked a guy that was close by if the part for “ my facilities name” had been ordered. She got back on the phone with me a minute or two later and said it somehow got missed and they would get that ordered right now and that it would be in right after the first of the year and asked if I wanted them to just do the load bank test at the same time. I said that would be perfectly fine no sense in Ray having to come out twice. So I waited, and waited. I finally called back Friday 01/16/26 for an update only to be told that part could be on back order and they don’t see anywhere in their computer where I called and scheduled a 4 hour load bank test. I have used ESSE to service generators at all of my facilities in Tennessee for a long time but the run around I’ve been given this last go around has ruined it for me. I’m sure it’s not Ray’s fault as he’s a great technician but they definitely have major issues with their main office. How can I talk to you about the same part for almost 4 months and the last time I call you’re oblivious to what I’m asking about. Then when I schedule a load bank test you never send a quote then when I call back you tell me I never called about a load bank test. The facilities I need these test for are regulated by the State and Federal Government and now I’m not compliant because someone just answers the phone, told me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone with no follow through. Thanks

Had a great experience with the sales team and sizing the generator for my elderly parents home. The install was ok but had some unexpected but understandable delays. The crew that trenched the yard did a very unsatisfactory job that even the ESSE supervisor noted after the fact (but we were left to deal with.). About a month after the install my parents called about a terrible gas odor. There was a gas leak at the generator and the fire department and gas company had to be called and the gas to the generator turned off. ESSE sent a supervisor the next day. He found the gas fittings at the generator were loose and commented they had not been installed properly. He redid those. Then we were sent a bill for $1200 which I contested but they have yet to respond to. Now, just a few weeks after than, and here at Christmas the Generator failed to start during the weekly test due to a gas issue. I called ESSE service department on the 19th but did not get a call back. On the 23rd their power went out, the generator failed to start and I called again and was told since it was Christmas week it would be “next week” before anyone can come out. I found a local Generac dealer who had a tech out the next morning. He informed me there are two gas leaks Lin the flex hose between the ground and the generator and also that the gas regulator was installed too close to the generators internal regulator. He recommend that entire segment be redone. I called ESSE and was given the number for GasPro in Hoover and called them. Was also told it would be Monday. My parents power came back on but was off again a few minute on Christmas Day. On Friday I did receive a call from an ESSE tech in the area who could swing by to take a look, but at this point we had moved on. GasPro got involved on 12/30 and came out. They found leaks underground in the flex lines and claimed ESSA had done that. We paid $400 to GasPro locate and repair the leaks. ESSE has since followed up and said that GasPro did the entire gas line install and was responsible for that. ESSE also said the $1200 bill was a mistake and has taken care of that. So, in the end, all is OK. We're just out $400 to GasPro to redo their work.

Gary in parts was very helpful. Gave me the help I needed when Generac couldn’t.
