About

Air Conditioning ContractorGenerator Service & RepairHVAC Contractor
Capital has been in business and located in Hoover since 1995. Since that time we have grown from one van and 20 customers to twelve service vehicles and over 5,000 customers. We are a medium size company that is large enough to handle bigger projects but small enough to care. Ninety percent of our new business comes from referrals so customer satisfaction is extremely important to us. The majority of our employees have been with our company over 10 years and all have gone through background checks and drug screening. Our technicians are extremely qualified with experience ranging from 10 to 28 years. We primarily serve Jefferson and Shelby counties, offer same day service as well as emergency after hours service.

We were thoroughly satisfied with Capital from quote, house AC needs assessment and installation. Grayson, Tim, Bobby, Gus and Wesley were all very professional and did a great job. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs their provided services.

Capital has been a very responsive and reliable company for keeping my lights on and house comfortable for 4 years now. My whole-home generator has never failed me, and, when a tree fell across my utility lines, they were quick to help me get the power back on. Highly recommended.

Mike Land is a great representative of your company. He is personable and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose a recurring issue with our A/C that others had not been able to identify and provided sound advice on another issue we were experiencing with our upstairs cooling. You can tell he has many years of experience and is skilled in his trade. I appreciated his honesty and advice. If I have another issue I will be asking for him.

Tl;dr - Poor business practices with fluctuating prices, lack of explanation, and incomplete work. —— Have dealt with multiple HVAC companies over the years for my mom’s house. First time with experience like this. Previous company from last year unavailable, so chose Capital at friends recommendation (they had simpler capacitor issue and were happy with their service). Shared my feedback with the technician directly and by his response, I’m certain they’ll respond to this review negatively. But as a customer, I had a poor experience with their business practices so wanted to share with others. Thanks. —— Thanks for the reply! For anyone reading, happy to provide additional context for their response — with previous HVAC companies, simple line check was included as part of the diagnostic work. In this case where I was being charged for a comprehensive line check, but the technician did not even check the valves at the outdoor unit, outdoor condenser coil, or the majority of the refrigerant line. So unfortunately it was incomplete and overpriced. In addition, at every step price ranges were given and without explanation, the highest amount on the price range was chosen. Even for the coil replacement alone , an arbitrary estimate of $5000 was given (without warranty). Funny enough, I found a more reputable HVAC company that could provide the service for an exact amount of $3653 including coil replacement, refrigerant refill, and warranty. So for this part of the story, they were simply overpriced and non-transparent. —— Also final response: Thanks! Glad to find a reasonably priced option with better transparency. Regarding your response about the coil, again a price range was given for the quote when asked about the coil with a lead time, and I was informed directly by your technician there is no warranty. If the latter is not true for your company, please speak to him.

Bittersweet is the answer. Felt the house wasn't cooling adequately and called the cavalry before summer hits full stride. Their tech Cody showed up promptly! Can't state how pleased I am with their response! Cody was professional and courteous a definite benefit to any organization. Now here is my only issue... Not with Cody! This is for the company. I'm no spring chicken. And I have lived around HVAC's. I use to hold my nose and pay their competitor $100(You can get them for $35) for a capacitor. I was floored when he said it would cost $400! That's highway robbery! Ouch!
