Our experience with Cabinets To Go in Irondale, AL has been extremely frustrating.
We spent more than $14,000 and paid in full, expecting professional installation and reasonable customer service. Instead, we have dealt with nearly three months of delays, repeated installation problems, poor communication, lost work time, added food expenses, and what I consider aggressive pressure sales tactics.
After our order had already been completed and paid in full, Tabitha, the store manager, contacted us after closing and said she needed an immediate decision regarding hundreds of dollars in additional charges or our order would be removed from the scheduled truck. When we declined, the order was removed. Since trucks only run on Mondays, that immediately delayed the project by a week.
The original installer left cabinets crooked, out of level, misaligned, and with visible gaps. We also had issues with the sink base, Lazy Susan, hinges, fillers, toe kicks, stove clearance, upper cabinets, and vent enclosure, along with damage to our walls, ceiling, and vent pipe.
Within hours of leaving our home, the installer acknowledged to the store that he knew adjustments were needed, yet he still left the installation in that condition. He later tried to blame his apprentice, even though he was present before the first cabinet was installed and remained throughout the job.
The installer returned four times and still did not correct the work. When I refused to sign off because the job was not complete, he developed an attitude and said he would not return and Cabinets To Go would not send anyone else.
We requested a different installer and were denied. Only after we requested cabinet removal and a full refund was a new installer finally sent. That installer independently confirmed that the cabinets had not been installed correctly and documented multiple areas that needed correction.
Because this all followed a formal complaint regarding Tabitha, and because the original installer appeared very protective of her, the sequence of events felt retaliatory to us. I cannot speak to intent, but the timing was concerning.
We have sent 6+ emails seeking help and repeatedly requested escalation. We have also used vacation time and unpaid time for repeated visits. Because our kitchen has remained unusable, we have spent additional money eating out and relying on frozen and prepared meals.
Customer Care has now told us that, under their Terms and Conditions, they want to replace the necessary parts and complete the installation first. We were also told that compensation may be reviewed after the work is complete, but that compensation is not guaranteed and no amount or method of reimbursement can be promised.
That response has added to our concern because, after everything that has happened, we are being asked to let the project be completed while accepting that the company may ultimately decide to provide no compensation at all.
To be fair, Rebecca at the store has been amazing and genuinely tried to help us.
Unfortunately, our overall experience has left us with very little confidence in this location’s management and installation process.
Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering Cabinets To Go in Irondale to look elsewhere until there is a change in store management and installation personnel.
I cannot recommend this location.

The staff at Cabinets To Go in Irondale, AL. are the nicest, most professional, extremely helpful people & they are very knowledgeable about the products they have to offer. Rebecca & Tabitha was a joy to work with. They were patient with me & seemed very happy to help me with the items I was interested in learning more about. They gladly answered all my questions & helped me understand some things I didn't know. I'm looking forward to working with them on my remodel projects.
Cabinets To Go has a great selection of good quality kitchen cabinets & accessories, as well as bathroom cabinets, vanities, closet organizers & accessories, all at good, competitive prices. I would recommend Cabinets To Go to anyone looking to build or remodel their homes.

Adding or updating a kitchen island can provide additional workspace, storage, and seating within the existing layout. Depending on the design, an island may include cabinets, drawers, electrical outlets, a countertop, or a seating overhang. Compared with a kitchen with limited preparation space, a well-planned island can improve organization and usability. Proper measurements are important to maintain comfortable movement around the island. A completed installation can become both a functional workspace and a central design feature.
