  I am a homeowner in Arcadia Ridge, and my home — purchased through CastleRock — sits directly next to the Ashton Woods construction manager’s trailer. While I understand that builders often block culverts during construction to prevent debris from entering drainage systems, the situation here has been handled with complete disregard for surrounding homeowners. Every time it rains, mud from the undeveloped lots above our property slides downhill and collects directly in front of our driveway. Because the culvert is blocked, water is unable to drain properly and instead floods into our yard. This has led to significant damage to our lawn — a costly and frustrating issue for a home valued at over half a million dollars. Despite multiple polite requests to the on-site team to scrape the mud so we’re not driving through it daily, my wife and I have been met with unprofessional behavior. The construction manager, Ryan, has been consistently passive-aggressive and, at times, unnecessarily openly aggressive toward both of us. Driving and speeding through up and down our street. Even when crews are working just two homes away, we are forced to wait up to a week before any cleanup is done. I also contacted the Ashton Woods model home for help, only to be treated with blatant rudeness by a sales representative named Mason. Unfortunately, this seems to be a pattern — not an exception — in the way homeowners are treated post-sale in this community. At this point, we are asking Ashton Woods to take accountability and resolve the drainage issue and repair the damage to our yard. We’re not asking for anything unreasonable — just to have our property respected and restored to its original condition. Living in this neighborhood has become far more stressful than it should be due to ongoing neglect and lack of basic customer care. I would strongly urge future buyers to be cautious when dealing with Ashton Woods unless there are clear changes in how homeowners are treated and construction impacts are managed.
