I’ve now had multiple experiences with Air and Drain Works, and this most recent situation has been extremely frustrating and concerning.
Two years ago, they replaced my entire main drain system. During that job, their crew actually broke through my tile from underneath the house. Instead of properly repairing it, I was basically given an “oops” and they filled the area with concrete. That alone should have been a major warning sign about the quality of their work.
After reviewing that original job, I also noticed I had been overcharged for a significant amount of pipe that didn’t seem necessary. I had to call it out myself to get it corrected.
Fast forward to a couple of days ago. They performed a hydrostatic test and told me the system was not holding water and that there was likely a separation, possibly near the cleanout. Based on that finding, they recommended a pinpoint test to locate the exact issue.
I agreed and paid $1,300 for the pinpoint test, expecting it to give a clear answer. During that test, they told me they found a “bow” in the line, meaning the pipe was sagging and not properly supported. However, they were still unable to identify the exact location of any break or failure.
Despite not being able to pinpoint the issue, I was still charged in full. Now I’m being told the only way to move forward is to dig underneath my home where they think the problem might be, at a cost of around $16,000.
That completely defeats the purpose of the pinpoint test. I paid for a diagnostic service that was supposed to locate the problem, and instead I’m left with no clear answers and being pushed toward a very expensive and invasive repair based on guesswork.
Considering they installed the system just two years ago—and given the issues during that original job—it raises serious concerns about their workmanship and accountability.
At this point, I feel like I paid for testing that didn’t deliver results and am now being pressured into spending significantly more money without a confirmed cause. I strongly recommend anyone considering this company to get a second opinion and carefully review everything before moving forward.
