- LLLeo LemanskiJan 28, 20261.0We rented a 8 foot ride on sweeper for two weeks and during the rental we had no issues. When we returned it, our driver dropped it off with no complaints, however 10 minutes later received a call stating we put gas in the diesel engine and it would have to be replaced which would be 5k-10k. We told them the broom ran fine that morning and we had not fueled it since running it so that cannot be true. Our driver promptly drove back to speak with the mechanic in person. The sweeper was where we left it and the mechanic immediately started on a story about how a gas station locally had been putting gas in diesel tank and multiple vehicles had this issue. We told him that we didn't fill up at said station as we were not working in that town. He then said he opened the fuel cap and smells gas. "Love this method when being charged thousands of dollars." My driver asked for the key and the mechanic said we cant attempt to start it to prevent further damage. After my driver insisted he gave him the key. The sweeper started with no issue and he went on to test all the features showing there was nothing wrong with the unit. He reclaimed saying he must not have been turning it on correctly. (AND HE IS THE MAN WORKING ON IT?!???) I was furious as if we were not allowed to show the mechanic how to start his own equipment we would be on the hook for $5,000-0,000 because of his nose and some unrelated story. BEWARE OF RENTING FROM HERE!!!!
