I’m really disappointed with Starlight Homes. They used the cheapest materials possible — from the tubs and sinks to the paint, faucets, carpet, and flooring. The quality just doesn’t match the price they’re asking for, and I honestly regret buying our home from them.
If you’re a first-time homebuyer, please do your research and consider other builders. Lennar Homes, for example, offers much better quality. And just because you’re a first-time buyer doesn’t mean you have to settle for a cheaply made home — there is quality out there for your money. Unfortunately, Starlight Homes isn’t it.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that there are a lot of rental homes in our community. There’s nothing wrong with that as long as tenants take care of their property, but that hasn’t been the case here. Cars are parked all over the streets, and many yards aren’t being maintained… ugh, it’s a mess! The only real positive is that our home sits on a corner lot — and that’s about it.
We’re currently making some upgrades to the interior decor — light fixtures, flooring, and a few other details — so that we can eventually put the house on the market and move on. Even the community pool area is disappointing. There are no umbrellas for shade, barely a few tables for parents to sit and watch their kids, and no lounge chairs or recliners. It’s insane — during the hot summer months, you can’t even relax or tan comfortably by the pool.
Overall, I just wish we had chosen a builder that cared more about quality and community experience. Lesson learned. My overall conclusion DO NOT BUY A STARLIGHT HOME!

2025 Update - @starlight homes my duty is to warn others so they don’t get in the same mess me and several homeowners are in due to the horrible quality of your homes and your failure to be transparent about selling majority of the homes in this community to investors.
You claim your records show that the items I complained about were addressed in 2022. Your contractor came in 2023 after I complained about recurrence of what was supposedly fixed and he told me loud creaks, detached strips, floor cracks etc. are all normal. To date, my little kids continue to sustain injuries from nails protruding out of the carpets all over the house.
2024 Update - 2 years since living in this house and things continue to fall apart. I have added pictures of some examples. One of the sprinklers on my lawn was not dig deep enough by Starlight Homes and because of that the pipe got cut by a lawn mower and I’m now stuck with the cost of fixing this. Kitchen cabinets have also started falling apart. Upstairs floors have loud squeaking noises even after three attempts by Starlight Homes to fix the floors. The last rep from the builder claims squeaky noises are normal.
More Update - We have now lived in this home for about 15months and I genuinely wish I could turn back the hands of time and purchase from another builder. The quality of this home is ABSOLUTE TRASH. it is obvious that Starlight Homes put the very bare minimum into building these homes. All of our door handles are constantly falling apart, kitchen cabinet doors are falling apart, subfloors are constantly creaking, sealants on all sinks and baths are off, wall paint looks horrible because of the single coating used, staircase has cracks, drywall seams are expanding on walls and ceiling. You can hear the slightest noise throughout the house because of very poor insulation. If someone whispers downstairs you hear the whisper upstairs (not kidding). As if this is not bad enough, the estate is almost being turned into a dumpster with m many residents consistently leaving trash bins on the streets and many lawns left overgrown with weed sometimes as high as 3 feet. We pay HOA fees but there is no enforcement of any by-laws to ensure communal areas are maintained because the builder hired what might arguably be the most useless HOA management company in Dallas. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE, DO NOT PURCHASE your home from Starlight Homes. Run far away.
Update - if you are an individual home owner looking to build equity and increase or maintain the value of your home, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMMUNITY. Majority of the homes have been and are being sold to investors for rentals and Starlight homes does not disclose this information to individual buyers. It appears there is no cap on the number of rentals either as my entire street is practically being rented. The quality of the homes are bad enough and now we have to deal with the possibility of depreciating value due to the high number of rentals. I regret purchasing from this builder and will never make the same mistake or recommend them to anyone. The HOA is useless and does nothing to ensure compliance with the HOA by-laws. Starlight Homes only cares about making money and nothing else.
The quality of our home is less than expected. We have been in the home for less than 4 months and the signs from poor building quality is very evident. Within the first week of living in the home, virtually every single door knob fell off the doors. Next, my daughter’s toe was injured while climbing the stairs as a result of being poked by nails on the stairs likely from poor carpet installation. My toes have also been poked severally by nails from the carpet. We are also dealing with terrible loud creaks from the second floor of the home. The door leading to the yard has a lot of space which lets in plenty of cold air on cold days as well as insects. Vents in the baths on the second floor are constantly making loud flapping noises at the slightest wind. I do not recommend building with Starlight homes or purchasing from them.

Update,,,,,, I’m really upset to get this home it’s missing a lot of important things and everything they Update: If I can give a 0 star I would. Being a home owner at a new build you should experience excitement, relief, safety and ease of mind. I was excited to move here knowing I’m going to build a lifetime memories with family however, I have had only the absolute worst experience and that’s heartbreaking. I was over promised and they under delivered. Here are just few examples of the horrific experience we encountered: the fence in our backyard started to break and separate to the point where we can see our neighbors, their dog comes to our backyard and the feeling of unsafe that anyone can just easily come or the weather can break the remaining fence down. The second issue the doors do not even close, at some point I feel like they are going to break from the force I have to put to close them. Third the batt insulation between downstairs and upstairs is either thin or poor quality because the person upstairs hears every noise downstairs and vice Versa. Fourth, the garage paint wasn’t even completed nor were the edges filled. When complained and they informed us that we had to pay additional $4000. There were sooo many more issues that it will take all day to name. How is it ok for a new built homes to have these issues? While Covid and inflation is happening they are trying to make more money out of the home owners. That’s not ok; at least warn us before the closing date! Be careful when you purchase this home I highly advise you look somewhere else because it’s a daily nightmare.
before used inside the home it’s bad quality and cheap stuff I just moved before 3 weeks and I surprised for the kitchen sink get Rust from first use I tried to find it out .
