During the service, our unit required 4 pounds of Freon at $120 per pound, but we were not informed of this cost until we received the bill. When he spoke with my husband on the phone beforehand, he only mentioned a $95 service fee plus the cost of Freon—without specifying the price per pound or total expected cost. At no point did he or the company provide a verbal estimate or a written statement detailing the charges. When we raised the issue, the office manager said that unless we specifically ask for an estimate, they assume we’re giving them the go-ahead to complete and charge for the work. This feels like the company is taking advantage of consumers who urgently need AC repairs by making the pricing unclear and relying on us “reading between the lines” to understand the full cost. We were never clearly informed that the Freon charge alone would be around $600. If we had known the total cost upfront, we would have explored other, more affordable options before proceeding. I want the public to know that companies like this are required to provide a clear estimate before starting any work, especially when costs are high, so consumers can make informed decisions. This lack of transparency is unfair and exploitative. Update: no accountability whatsoever, he’s the owner so assuming was much more lucrative. I’m not asking for a refund I’m asking you to update your policies and do better. Never calling this company again and neither should anyone else.
