The developers are not taking care of the property. As a home owner I'm having to get legal help to get what they promised when I bought the house 2 years ago. Avoid this if you can.

As a Realtor, I have big expectations in Customer Service and Alexis D'Hondt went above and beyond to give us the best Customer Service Experience. Alexis was incredibly helpful and attentive to our needs throughout the entire process, and we were able to close this deal in only 18 days!!! Thanks a bunch, Alexis.

As for a company Richmond American is the worst new construction home builders around. We have purchased now 6 homes and have only ever encountered issues was the first time we went to buy a Richmond American Home. The first encounter we had with the company they wanted to make us pay $40,000 over appraisal price because they were selling too high. Thankfully We are military and were able to get out of the contract because they were dead set against budging.
Stupidly years later we gave them a second chance. Not only did they want to add additional money to the contract AFTER it was signed they fired everyone who actually helped the home buyer. If it wasn’t for the sales agent (Harry) going above and beyond for us we would have been long gone before signing the contract. He not only went above and beyond during the closing process but made sure we were set and getting everything done that needed to be done after we closed. He was let go because Richmond American was asking way to much for these homes and not advertising they way they needed to.
Our original superintendent was a joke. He sounded intoxicated every conversation we had, slurring his words and not knowing simple answers to questions my husband had. For example what wattage (?) the RV outlet was, his response was idk I’ll have to find out. WHAT?!? It’s your job to know these things.
Midway through our build we had a new superintendent assigned to our community. This man (Tim) would stay late, come in after hours, do things himself to make sure we as the buyers were satisfied and that everything stayed on Tim. He made things right when the subs screwed up (which was A LOT), went over everything in the house as many times as we needed him to, got things completed that weren’t done before we closed. All the things.
Now that we are with the warranty company it’s a joke. They come out to the house to see what needs to be done and then disappear. Excuses as to why they can’t get something done (to short staffed) that are not my problem!!! We spent a lot of money on our home and everything was great until we closed. The only saving grace was the second superintendent who actually cares about his buyers.
I want Richmond to know that I will NEVER promote their homes! The ONLY reason we purchased our home is because of Harry and the only reason we stayed was because of him and Tim!!! Jimmy (first super) was an alcoholic joke and the fact that you wanted to charge us for things that were agreed upon is shady! My realtor will never promote your company and quite frankly is as upset as we are that Harry was let go!!!
Anyone thinking of buying a home DO NOT PURCHASE A RICHMOND AMERICAN HOME!!! They are not good to their customers or the employees who actually care about the home buyers!
If you take anything away from this please take away to never buy or trust the Richmond American company! Ther individuals there that you can trust get let go.
