    We love our home, and the builder was responsive about fixing issues with our microwave, trim, and floors. But the white countertops in our kitchen have black spots on them that are not removable, i.e. they are defects. In the pictures, they look like they were drawn on with a marker. I wish that was the case because at least it would be removable. The builder sent a person over to remove them within a few weeks of us moving in, but it did not work. I tried buffing it out and using cleaning solutions myself, but they are still there. We are past the 1 year warranty period for the home. Even though we brought up the issue with the kitchen countertops within that period, we haven't heard any updates in several weeks since a service rep saw the marks in person. It looks like we will have to redo the kitchen ourselves, which makes me extremely sad.

    We're very happy a year in! The Ashton Woods Customer Care rep in Lariat, Audilio Blanco, is outstanding. He goes above and beyond to make sure homeowners are happy, whether they're still under warranty or not.
