We are under contract and received an appraisal nearly $100,000 below the agreed price. Rather than addressing this obvious issue, Ashton Woods failed to follow up after telling us they would contact us and has continued to push the transaction forward as if nothing is wrong. This raises serious concerns about how they handle material issues and whether they act in good faith when a deal no longer benefits them. The lack of communication and accountability at this stage has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We expected far better from a national builder.

DO NOT BUY FROM ASHTON WOODS THEIR BUILDERS ARE IDIOTS!!!!!!! nothing but issues with these guys A/C issues, they have swapped project managers 4 times since we started the process. we HAVE NEVER gotten help with issues Sheet rock buckling since we bought it. The kitchen is un-usable due to smoke alarm going off anything you cook anything. they planted a OAK tree 6in from my foundation after we closed without permission!! They wont come get it out now!! the new guy Aaron never returns calls he said his boss was going to call me never did. they use cheap labor that don't know what they are doing I had to fight with them for 6 months for get a different roofing vent installed as it was not properly ventilated (I am a roofer) they were mixing vent types Box vents and ridge vent. they should have done a solar vent or power vent. I only had 4ft of ridge for 1,200 SQft of attic. they were also previously sued for mold growth in the homes. (per court forms Improper attic ventilation. one would think if you were sued for the issue you would get it resolved but they chose profits instead as getting good educated roofer that will do it right is do pricey. we have had a huge cracking in our cabinets since we bought it. it was supposed to have got done a long time ago!!! now there is a sewer odor coming from the laundry drain wont go away. our house is only 1.5 years old and now we are having plumbing/sewage issues with our laundry room, dishwasher and showers with a horrible sewer smell, their warranty website they make you go though doesn't work. I as well as several of my neighbors have reached out to local news stations for help as it appears the only way that Ashton woods will care is when it hits their wallet. DO NOT BUY FROM ASHTON WOODS the sales rep will answer their phone but nobody else will!!!!!

Buyer beware. I waited to post this one star review after offering several opportunities to allow this company to “make things right.” Shall we begin with the clear lack of supervision that resulted in an exhaustive inspection report, the poor communication from the construction manager, or the bottles of urine discovered in our attic that accompanied the paint buckets filled with trash and other unidentified waste products after moving in? This was not my 1st rodeo (I have purchased used and newly built homes over the years), but NEVER experienced so many negative surprises in poor build quality and lack of ownership from a seller/builder. If I could offer one piece of advice to ANYONE admiring an Ashton Woods Home, it would be to refuse closing until the home is 100% to your liking. Promises of home warranty coverage and quick resolution of discovered issues are a sure-fire way to leave the buyer in a position to become a slave to their new home (the complete opposite of what anyone would expect from a nearly $500k investment).

Overall, disappointed. AW pride themselves for high quality homes, but our experience purchasing a new home has been different. A lot of mistakes and issues that do not match their high quality value proposition. It seems that things were done in a hurry, construction managers are overloaded and have to supervise many homes at the same time, which does not allow them to do a proper work. We closed a new home more than 30 days ago, moved in 2 weeks ago and still have a punch list of more than 15 items to be addressed (no clear time frame for that). I truly think the construction manager is doing his best to help us, but it's just too much! Most probably I'd not be purchasing a new AW home again in the future and if you do buy one, make sure everything is in nearly perfect shape before you close. Otherwise, you'd be spending a lot of time reporting issues under warranty and following up to have them closed. The only good news, among all troubles, is Kelly Fregia. Since she was assigned to manage our numerous warranty issues, at least things started to be managed, followed up and solved. Also, she kept us informed on everything that was going on, which was not happening until she was assigned to help us.

Let me tell you somethin. You come here looking for a house…you gonna leave with a home. Ask for tomas. Tomas no here? You wait for tomas. He helped us every step of the way with our cross country move. Even communicating with our realtor out of state. (Which he did not have to do). To add, Emanuel…jam up. Answered all of our questions with prompt timely responses. If you are looking for people who care, you came to the right place.
